Ramona on ESPN710 just said she's pretty positive that LeBron is leaving Cleveland for the West Coast. John asked the Clippers or Lakers. Ramona said Lakers because of the brand and product power, not to mention if he comes with Paul George the Lakers feel comfortable competing.
You might need a good coach to whom you listen to in the West. I don't think 21st ranked defense is gonna cut it along with chill mode and other nonsense. You come West you tank or you come prepared.
I'd be surprised if LeBron picks the Lakers over the Clippers. With his ego, I doubt he would want to be compared to past great Lakers who won multiple championships, whereas the moment he puts on a Clippers jersey he is already the best Clippers player in their history.
Raise your hand anyone that would prefer in hypothetical discussion having Russell Westbrook take Lebron's contract and picking a 3rd young star stud not yet at max to be a 3rd musketeer with PG and RW. And Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball and Ivica Zubac.. I'd go out of my gourd for that as opposed to bringing Lebron in. Hypothetically. Magic and Lonzo and Luke in Russell's ear. F*** 35 year old take-most-or-all-of-the-credit-in-the-media Lebron.
At this point I think he'd rather win than worry about his ego. You can only go to the Finals and lose so many times until you realize you have to give in a little. And there is plenty of room in L.A. for a big ego. Ask Magic and Kobe. Plus now, we have Lavar, no ego bigger than that!
Kobe carried himself in a way in a different way. Lebron in LA could get ugly. I am not sure the fanbase would accept it from Lebron what it accepted from Kobe. In NBA terms LeBron has under average charisma.
So you would be thumbs down on LeBron being a Laker because you THINK he has charisma problems? You must be kidding. All this fear is all conjecture. The only thing you should KNOW for certain is that LeBron is a true dominate baller. I'll take my chances with the charisma stuff.
Sure the Laker jersey comes with some expectation and pressure, but you guys are skipping something important: money. Can you imagine how many dollar signs LeBron is seeing when he sees his name on a Laker jersey? The merchandising... the opportunities with the Laker brand... oh man. With the Clipper brand? Eh.
I'm on the Westbrook plus an emerging rookie big boy player for less than max and Paul George train. What do you think? So great if you are right above.
Not OX, but I can't shake the thought that this is just another power play for Lebron. He flirts with multiple teams before ultimately deciding that Cleveland is "home" and repeats the same narrative as the return a few years back. Lebron loves the attention and no doubt is happy that he is dominating the headlines over the Warriors.
