Yeah Jones is a straight shooter and definitely not a Laker homer.

Run through a brick wall he says?
Just don't get hurt using chopsticks and we'll be fine. How about that for starters...

I'm not sure people realize how good Kessler is. We now have a foundation that gives us a chance to win anytime we take the court. Kessler shuts down the key, his blocks are often recovered by his team. Student of the Bill Russell School of defense.

I have no idea how good he is. I've literally never seen him play against the Lakers when I could watch a game, so I'm left hoping he's a healthy warm body, but HOPING he's fantastic and a foundational piece with our 3 Gringomigos approach to team building.

Youtube is your friend. :) He’s a fleet rim running / rim protecting beast with soft hands. And nice nails.

He's a future NBA star at the 5, I fully believe this.

I'm feeling pretty confident on Kessler being a success for us.

As an aside, while I don't think Kessler needs to do this by any means, I'd love for him to get in the lab this summer with Pau.

If Pau is willing to do that then it would be huge for his continued development

Yeah, I have no idea how likely any of that is or is not, but it just feels like Pau could really help Kessler further develop his offensive game next to Luka and Austin.

So Weezy, I have to ask you. What would you have paid for Kessler last year? 2 firsts are what Ainge wanted last year and we said no. Now we said yes and have a real center who is 3 times as good as what we had. The 2 pick swaps are nothing, more than likely we have a much better record than the Jazz in both of those drafts. It's expensive to get premium plays that are coveted by other teams. This was a good deal at average NBA prices.

Nobody will be making layups against the Lakers any more. And the more blocks and shot changes he makes gives the Lakers more possessions. Nobody was going to be able to sign Kessler for $15 million like Robinson got. Kessler is twice the center Robinson is too.

So who do we have, that we actually want to trade, that the Jazz would even want? That is the real question. The Lakers have very little talent on their team not named Doncic, Reaves, and now Kessler. Trading all of our young talent and future picks in previous years has come home to roost. I do not care for Pelinka's normal moves or non-moves, but he has done a good job so far building this team.

I propose the next move in making a trade with Minnesota for Josh Green and Rocco Zikarsky. #1- the Timberwolves like Vanderbilt and see him as their PF. More importantly Ant loves him and they are best friends. Offer Vandy & Knecht for Green & Ziharsky. We move off almost $17 million in salaries. Green is a better fit for the Lakers as a 3&D guy, and Rocco gives us a real backup to Kessler. They are similar in size @ 7'2, both are solid defenders, and both are just scratching the surface of their abilities because they are so young.

Green is much more moveable than Vandy if we don't want to keep him, and is on an expiring contract. The key is the Wolves love Vandy when virtually no one else does. What are we waiting for? They will fill their PF need sooner rather than later. Pelinka, get off the pot. Trade for a 3&D and a real backup center.
