Yeah, that would be kind of stupid to wait for him. If we say we are not waiting, then where is Kuminga going to go if Lebron signs with the Cavs? Does this mean the Cavs are his first choice?

Yeah, maybe we do just turn our attention to Washington,Spencer Jones, Ziare Williams.

    LaRavia + Hardy + 32 swap + 2nds for Washington does work.

Not sure how we go about getting Jones. Maybe we just offer Denver Knecht + 2031 2nd + 2032 2nd for Jones at 8.4 million. Nuggets can't afford 8.4 million, but maybe they could afford Knecht's 4.2 million?

We probably could get Williams for the minimum.

Kuluma is ready to scrap for a spot on this roster folks. Nice little trio of Kuluma, Carr and Thiero..a new " Young Core " potentially developing.

We got more good young players than you can shake a stick at. Future is bright in Lakerland.

my concern from the beginning was Cleveland could offer Atlanta more in S&T and had paths to a bigger salary for Kuminga. I’m sure we’re exploring the other options and have been. Need to know more about the situation before I decide who to be mad at, but I’m leaning kuminga’s agent right now, throwing good money after bad.

Because Lebron will be paid peanuts he can drag this out as long as he wants. He also wont want to help the Lakers win as it would be bad for his Legacy.

I don’t think we should be mad at anyone.

Kuminga and his agent turned down 3 years 75m from Golden State because they felt he was worth more. I imagine they won’t to recoup that at the least.

Meanwhile the Lakers want a deal. If they get Kuminga for 10-15, they’ve got a lot of talent for a steal.

I don’t think it’ll happen but I get their reasoning, 3 players in Kuminga, Grimes and Mamu for under 45m is a good bit of business. Reaves and Kessler for a combined 70m. Luka for 50m. Leaves you 40ish under the first apron to build the rest out.

Kuminga already Shroedered himself once with the Dubbs and he may be doing it again with us.
He and his agent are truly oblivious.
    Time to move on.

Lakers may turn back time and prove Steven A smith wrong. Lakers Just might make it to the finals lead by 3 White dudes. Dirk and if you want to Put Jason Kid in there beat Wade Lebron Bosh Heat. If Lakers find a PF/SF combo wing and the stay healthy. Look out.

My guess Jonathan will be a free agent again next summer as he may sign a 1 year deal with a player option and reenter the market. He will end up being a player playing for a contract. I can see him and JJ getting into it if he end up a Laker.

Lakers could proactively trade Bronny to Cleveland for a 2nd round pick. Could help increase Cleveland's chances of getting Lebron, and the Laker's chances of getting Kuminga. Both teams help eachother out.

Some of you smart guys would have to help me out but I'm more concerned with protecting all of our young talent than trades at this point.

Hypothetically if LeBron signs with the Cleveland, then does this mean Kuminga doesn’t have any other options and takes the Lakers 2 year $20 million deal?

Or will this be an ego thing for Kuminga and his agent where he sits out the season until next summer to see if other teams with cap space then offer him what he wants?

There is a point in time (and it’s probably right around now) where the right move might be to just walk away from overpaying Kuminga with a long term contract and save the pick swap and 2nd rounders to see if there are better options in trade during the season instead.

We could target certain players who we know the other team would be more than happy to dump to us, a player like Jeremi Grant is on the Grizzlies with a large but shorter term contract ($34 million/season) with a player option next year. He has his own warts, particularly injuries, but when healthy is exactly the type of 3 and D player our lineup can use.

The Grizzlies are in rebuild mode and have no need for him, just a straight up expiring contracts of Hardy/Knect/Vando while the Lakers keep our second rounders may appeal to Memphis just so they can get off most of Grant’s contract earlier.

I like it, we have so much talent now we don't even know what to do with it all. Stay away from malcontents and develop what we have. Stash our assets. Adou is building momentum and just needs to be unleashed, Carr is going to make immediate impact, others as well. No growth stunting allowed. Let them play to get ready for the playoffs and the future. Whether by luck or genius, Rib Bone Rob has really set the table for us. JJ needs to take over and lead us through the wilderness. No food, no water, lost in the wild, who cares, we will still win.

I'm serious though, trade Bronny to Cleveland right now for a 2nd round pick. Both teams benefit.

Lakers get 2nd round pick, an additional roster spot and an imcreased chance of getting Kuminga

Cavs get an increased chance of getting Lebron. It's a trade they likely do anyway if they were to get Lebron first.

If Kessler's three-point shooting is real, Thiero could actually start with him. If not, we would have to get a better shooter at the 4. Kuminga would be ideal since he is a decent shooter and lob-threat at the same time. Then there is PJ Washington as a possibility. Also, Ziare Williams is still out there, maybe he's waiting on stuff like Lebron, Lakers, etc.
