I actually think Mamu’s best spot is backup center and he’ll get 15-20 mins there with some additional time at backup PF.

could be. thus backup center is third string center (but again, still likely spot starter if/when kessler's injured).

still means we have a giant hole at forward (really sf, imo, as luka's minutes will now almost all be guarding the 4 spot).

I have no idea how this team can survive for 18 mpg without kessler right now - they are going to have trouble on the glass, and their defense looks to be really bad without him. I'm trying to run thru lineups in my head but you see obvious stress points. A team with a good sixth man scorer for example is going to time their lineups when Kessler is out and right now looks like a bunch of easy meat to attack.

    grimes or bust right now?

right now i think the plan is to outscore people while kessler's on the bench. we probably have the personnel to do it.

I mean that's probably going to have to be the plan when he's on the court, too.

Kessler is probably 28-30 mins. So we should have 18-20 mins of backup C by Mamu and whatever third stringer we get.

A lot changes if we have a defensive wing. Just get me Spencer jones to man the whole defensive line

As a stretch 5, because he's not a shot blocker.

never. i just don't see the current options otherwise. we got the best defender on the market; unfortunately, the only other one that switched teams left us, lol.

Yeah I'm also worried with games Kessler misses, especially considering his injury history is still a question mark.

That can absolutely be the difference between 3rd seed and play-in in the West, even if he only misses 10 games or so.

I'm worried with our bigs depth. Still pissed with Hayes management.
    Yup, it's gonna be bad.
Only silver lining is that I think it's by design and goes towards JJ philosophy. We'll see if it works, I don't like it but giving him the benefit of the doubt

Yeah I think that we could have found a way to bring him back

Hopefully Rob has something up his sleeve because we need C depth really bad

I'm pumped for Kessler, we haven't had a defensive big of his quality since...? Damn, I don't even remember...

Dwight wasn't Dwight when he got here after the back.

Bynum wasn't as good as Kessler is on D in my opinion.

The guy's good on that end - real good.
