Its the fit. I had suggested Sexton as a solution for secondary ball handler if Reaves left, a few weeks ago, so I think he's a good player. But we had bigger needs after Reaves resigned.

Just wanted to point out that Ayton played some minutes as a PF in college. Depending on match ups we can deploy our Twin Towers.

Kessler could play he wasn't injured for whole season
Utah were tanking so no reason for him come back early. It s like when AD was ready to be traded to Lakers they decided not to play him

Going to be wild when Kessler & Mamu are bombing 3's while Ayton is the best PNR finisher in the league.

Can't believe we'll also have the best perimeter defense with Carr, Adou & Grimes and Kessler wins DPOY. Don't think anyone could of foretold Lakers were a top 3 defense.

Can the pelicans drop their delusional player thinking and trade Saddiq Bey for LaRavia?

Was it more personally motivated? Brown’s frequent Twitch streams caused some headaches in Boston’s front office and his claim that last season was his favorite—besting, you know, the 2024 run that ended in a championship—didn’t go over well with the fan base. Behind the scenes there was plenty of grumbling about Brown’s desire to be viewed as a basketball equal to Jayson Tatum.

Just catching up on everything. Does anyone have an overview on what we have left to spend? MLE?

Right now, no cap money left. It's vet min signings only. And no picks left. We emptied the chambers already. And the contracts we handed out are not pretty. All four year, all with the fourth year as a player option. The only good contract is the one for Kessler. All the rest are overpays.

So it's pretty tough. Maybe we squeeze some money out of a Vando stretch and waive. Or maybe we make a trade with Vando or Ayton or Knecht. But we don't have any picks to sweeten the deal.

That’s all bulll**** narrative team try to put out. They are cheap f***s. Who don’t want to pay him.

A player can have his own opinion. Maybe he had fun and he liked the buy in. You can’t tell a player how to feel.

if Shai says last season when he won his MVP was his best. You gonna trade him? Nope?

Ain’t nobody was gonna trade Lebron when he had his mind the game podcast.

We used all of our cap room, so we only have the vet minimums to spend.
    I
However, we could get some of that cap room back if we waive and stretch players.

Vando would create about 7.3 million
    Ayton 5.4
    LaRavia 4.0
    Knecht 2.8

We could also use those players to try to sign and trade for a player. I believe if you a are trading for a player who makes under 20 million, you could take back up to 7.5 million more than what you sent out. Anything over 20 mill it needs to be within 25% I believe.

For example, Lakers could trade LaRavia, who makes 6 million for a player who makes 13.5 million. This gives the other team incentive to perhaps trade us a better player than we send out, if they are interested in dumping salary.

We could also send out our 2033 2nd and/or 2028 swap in a trade.

Lakers are likely shopping Ayton, since he is perceived as having some value. Some team might want him as their big. Teams could use cap room,MLE, trade exceptions to absorb players. Lakers might feel he will pout as the backup, and don't want the headache. Mamu could be the backup 5, who would pair nicely with Thiero as the backup 4.

Between possible salary relief by dumping Ayton, and stretching Vando, the Lakers could essentially end up with MLE level money of 15 million, which they could use to outbid Teams for players like Rui or Kumimga.

Lakers could also engage in sign and trade talks with Atlanta. The two teams have a good working relationship. They just made a trade last deadline swapping Gabe + 2032 2nd for Kennard. They could make a similar deal like, LaRavia + 2033 2nd for Kuminga.

Lakers are probably working on different scenarios right now, canvassing the league.

Okay Luka says he’s excited and likes all the moves in the off-season.

Lakers say they aren’t done yet with all their moves.

I didn't even think about Minny. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense for him.

thanks for explaining. Maybe a s&t with the hawks - Knecht for kuminga could work. Would love to have the guy but he might command too much.

We talked about that last season. I think it is the perfect solution. We get that defensive energy and with the starters we have he doesn't need to score. Set screens, roll, cut just to keep the defense honest. I had much rather do that than get rid of him. Valuable commodity used correctly. His confidence would rise and he would hit a shot or two, get some fast break points. I'm hoping we wake up and keep Vando.

The good thing about this coming season is the players can fight it out for the starting spots. Most thought LeBron should of been the sixth man last season but his ego couldn't have allowed that. This year we don't have all the LeBron issues to deal with and Kessler more than makes up for losing him. AR should have his most impactful season as well. Things are looking up in Laker land!!
