Boston could have had Giannis for Brown. Wild trade.

I’m a little perplexed by those sayings we lost a top 20 player as if we weren’t losing that even if we retained him. He’s about to turn 42. Lebron has delayed Father Time longer than anyone predicted, but the wheels will fall off and when they do, it won’t be pretty. I wouldn’t bet on him surviving another season in that company again. Eventually the luck will run out.

From what I have seen of them that is just my opinion but I'm pretty confident in what I see. I trust my own eyes over anything else. Gets me in trouble once in awhile but typically works out for me. Unless I've had a couple Alaska Ambers...lol.

also, he clearly hated the organization, so...bye.

so glad we didn't mortgage the future for his whims the past few years and instead built a future-focused roster.

It dont work like that. Lets be real. Lebron was a Laker for the longest stretch. its been all down hill since 2020. Were they the worst team in the league? no. Not at any point but wasn't good either. Bro they had about a month of solid play with Luka on a historic run and players not happy with roles. How long you think that was going to last?

Lebron James will still most likely, still be a superior player to everyone we signed. At 42.

That being said..we move on. I'm a little worried about my boy Austin now. If this s*** goes left, Luka won't suffer any consequences, Austin will be sacrificed in order to try and fix it.

Honestly, I just see this as a new beginning for the Lakers and I'm very excited about our chances to compete and build.

The key for us comes down to us getting the Luka and AR we got at the start of last season along with Kessler playing most of the season.

It’s tough for me because like many, I don’t hate the moves in a vacuum but the deals themselves could have been better to put it mildly.

It also continues our pattern of losing guys who were contributing for nothing while not being able to move the contracts we actually want to get rid of ( at least for now).

Off-season isn’t over by any means but today was a mixed bag.

He will individually. But building the team with him along with Austin and Luka was a challenge. I think March erased the season as a whole from memory. Lets just say they lost all 8 games to OKC, Was toyed with Just as Minny and Denver did a few years earlier.

only thing i didn't like was length of contracts and player options. i might have made other choices (wade, ellis), but i like all the signings. getting kessler was a coup. i realize we're not allowed to say that cuz rob's dumb, but that's hard to pull off. oh, right, he got fleeced. well, the team that was adamant about keeping its guy sold him on a reasonable contract for 2 1sts (that they could have gotten a year ago from several teams). not sure about all that.

if we could get kuminga (not getting my hopes up), it would be a pretty amazing turn, imo.

again, the real issue here is how much you believed in the team that finished last year. i didn't. most people here did. so they're mad. to me, this whole thing was going to be blown up since last year, so i never got emotionally attached to anyone but luka and reaves, because i knew logic said they'd be here.

The gamble is on the health of a 42 year old. Eventually you lose that bet. And he was absolutely gassed after 1 round of the playoffs. How he played was impressive and admirable, but it didn’t inspire confidence that he could keep it up through a full playoff run.

I think he was a little drunk on power in this org and am pretty certain he’ll take a paycut elsewhere that he wouldn’t take in LA. Overall, I’m not mad and I appreciate what he did, but wouldn’t invest in his body holding up another season.

    Nobody moved in the rotation.

We swapped Kessler for Bron, Grimes for Smart, Mamu for Rui and Sexton for Kennard in the top 7 ladder.

    Luka
    AR
    Bron/Kessler
    Smart/Grimes
    Ayton
    Rui/Mamu
    Kennard/Sexton

The rest remains the same. We're probably getting a vet min wing that takes Hayes role, which balances the different positions of Bron/Kessler but in terms of roster hierarchy we are exactly the same

Only minor caveat is that Vando is currently taking Hayes hierarchy spot but I forgot we are probably adding a vet min wing to play over him

I'm as big a homer as you will ever find and freely admit it. I convince myself we are winning it all every season...lol.

The funny thing about Rob; is that anytime the team has some success; he blows s*** up.

Won a chip..immediately broke up the veteran core.

Went to the Conference Finals and immediately got rid of all the depth and tradable contracts we had.

Win our 1st playoff series in forever and we bring in a motley crew of " potentials".

The results bounced back negatively, in the 1st two scenarios. I have to see how we finish this week out. I'm not exactly thrilled right now TBH.
