Interesting ,it was before signing Raptors stretch-five center Sandro Mamukelashvili is coming off the best season of his career at the most opportune time. The 27-year-old big man is expected to decline his $2.80 million player option and earn a significant pay raise as an unrestricted free agent this summer after playing the most games of his career (80) and averaging career-highs in points (11.2), field goal percentage (.523), rebounds (4.9), and minutes (21.9). Over the past two seasons, Mamukelashvili has shot 38.3 percent from beyond the arc, which has helped increase his value in the eyes of talent evaluators around the league. Thus, there’s an early belief that Mamukelashvili could command the full non-taxpayer mid-level exception about $15 million or certainly a significant portion of it, with teams around the league wondering if he’ll cost too much for Toronto to retain if they want to remain below the luxury tax. He got exactly what he wanted In taxes did he save or not I don't know, but Toronto is expensive too. Definitely Win- Win situation for Georgia,Mamu and his agent
This is the one I like - advanced metrics love him. Tough dude who can shoot - a little Naz Reid like archetype
Good news. I saw he didn't graded well in perimeter defense, which I think he will need to do starting at the 4 in a Luka team. I like him as a backup 4. Iffy with us investing in him for a starter 30mpg. Hope it pays out, we really need it
I've seen this guy a few times; I watched a few Raptors games last season. I was lusting after Scottie Barnes, and Sleepy is still my favorite from the young core. He's an upgrade over Maxi, I'm not sure about this Rui talk TBH. Rui steps up his game in the playoffs..the wild Russian has a little edge to him, not exactly " athletic " but he's not afraid of banging into people either. He scored a nice contract IMO.
Yeah I saw that tweet about him grading poorly on perimeter defense and found it amusing for a guy that is listed as a PF/C.
yeah, people worried about kessler being played off the floor should consider that we could slide him up for portions of games.
yeah, i know only the stats and some highlights. at some point you have to believe in your scouts. and we weren't alone in pursuing him. from the film, i'd say he can catch bad passes and still convert. he'll get better ones here.
not last year in bigger minutes, but yeah, before that, pretty meh. not as bad as the guy he's replacing, though.
