If we are going for a youth movement though, maybe they were never part of the plan. Just stinks we didn't want to sign them as an asset and flip them later. We walk away empty handed on all of our free agents except one so far I think. DA.

What was the point of trading for Kennard if you’re going to let him walk? Pelinka needs to go,

because last year was a placeholder/transition year. we never meant to keep any of them. ayton's only here because he had a really disappointing season. this ended up working out ok for us by accident, though, as centers are really expensive right now.

grand total we paid one second round pick for the entire lot. that one second round pick helped buy us some decent basketball to end the season and three fun playoff games from kennard.

rob may still need to go, but no way ownership wasn't made aware that this was the offseason plan, and they signed off on it.

That makes no sense especially for a team that lacks shooting you don’t just let good players go. This team isn’t in a position to let a player like Kennard walk.

Trash.I don’t see any good ending here, we lost 3 rotation players, if we lose Rui, then it is a complete rebuild.

As is stands, we have at least 4-5 roster spots to fill. I like Luke as much as the next guy, but after Games 1 & 2 against HOU, he was basically taken out of that series and was mostly a non-factor against OKC.

Now I still would have loved to keep Luke on the contract he got, but the offseason just got started. I’ve been saying for months that I’ll wait and see how Rob handles free agency before calling for his head and I stand by that. The start doesn’t look great, but also feels like they knew this is how it would start so let’s see if Rob can save his job. Otherwise, peace out.

yep. and it may take until camp for it all to play out. people will get their rob wish if their doomsaying comes true, so i guess that's a win/win. we either do well or we're free from rob--and i'm free from the never-ending rob discourse!

but there's a lot left to happen.

Why do we refer to Luke’s advanced stats like it’s some sort of negative that they are average? Of course they’re average, Luke is an 8th guy on a championship team at best. But he went and won you two playoff games - what more do you want for 6.5 million? That’s a damn steal, just look at what Shamet did for the Knicks.

He is really valuable in his role and at his salary and we let it go. As fans we have the right to be pissed at that, we don’t need to sugar coat it.

Our front office has spent 4 seconds in two years on guys they let walk a few months after acquiring them. Just really poor.
