i watched Gary Trent (trent jr's dad), Wally Szerbiak (sp?), and Antonio Gates in MAC ball. Didn't think much of Wally thought he was overhyped. Gates and Trent were hell of a lot of fun to watch. 2 of these had decent NBA careers and one went onto to be an NFL HOF lol. MAC ball ain't half bad

surprised the contract didn’t say and you have to pay for all of your airfare on flights. And you pay for your hotel rooms. lol. And you have to pay for your own food in the arena.

Robinson with Ayton is actually a pretty decent center rotation.

I guess you're expecting Lebron, Smart, and Rui to come back

And the big if's Adiou really is going to have high expectations because even you add a Bill Russell at center last year's team aint contending for a title without a big increase in athleticism and 2 way talent over guy like Jake and Vando. You can even throw Kennard and Rui. Need some 2 way talent

My point was Buzzie’s long time general manager history in the game and him saying he had Never seen any owner with the intense driven competitive spirit of Walter. Like he owns a championship or 2 or 3! and makes no difference he’s already doing everything he can to repeat again. That’s a pretty incredible description of the mindset of who is calling the shots and OKing the big money spent for AR’s contract. Then people here going “just shows Laker’s ownership isn’t serious about winning because of the contract”. For all we know they expect AR to come off the summer break the best player he’s ever been (before he wears down or whatever the fear is) and intending to use that high salary while he’s at his peak and trade him to a team that needs “that” for a player we need even more.

Yo as good as Stewart is and all these other guys are Deandre Ayton is a 27 year old Center who is still a respectable 15-10 player. We don’t need his 25 points. We have 3 guys who can get 30 whenever we want to and just paid a guy 200 million who nearly gets 25 a night. Our team before our star player before he was hurt was ready to win the whole conference. Well get the bigs to compliment. But as bad as Ayton is roasted here. The guy had a good season and as I said against good Centers Sengun Wemby Sabonis Ayton has bought it and came to play. We’re doing pretty good.

Mark Walter is a savage. Dolan New York he refuses to go in the second apron. You have an owner who doesn’t mind doing it here. In the words of Kendrick Lamar. We gon be alright!!!!!!

Hypothetical question here. Could Minnesota use their TPE to absorb a player through sign and trade?

Detroit clearing cap to go after Powell. Interesting story there

Beef Stew would be a nice addition but wouldn't give up a 1st for him. Guess he is out of range now

Looking like Robinson and Gafford are our guys. If we go Robinson/Hayes/Love as the center rotation it's really thin. Let's see what happens

I really liked this comment and I asked myself, if we actually added an all time great defensive big, would we be contenders?

What’s the current closest to Bill Russell. Rudy Gobert? Bam Adebayo? I don’t know if we are contenders with either.

Yes, it acts as an exemption for one year. So when they dumped Randle into cap space they created a Trade Exemption that can take players into it via trade. That can be a sign and trade.

The thing is, if you bring Bill Russell into the modern day, does he win 11 out of 13 rings? Or was that done because he was great and didn’t have as much competition as exists in today’s league.

Bill Russell is probably still the best defender in the league today but his team isn’t winning the ring every year. They might not win one unless you surround him with the right pieces.

That’s exactly what I’m saying, he would most likely be the best defender but the league is wildly different to what it was 60 years ago.

So this is the current team right now:

    Luka (49.5) / x / Bronny (2.3)
    Reaves (20.9 {41.3}) / Carr (3.4) / Knecht (4.2)
    x / Jake (6) / Adou (2.1)
    x / x / Vando (12.4)

Smart has a PO at 5.4m (unlikely)
Ayton has a PO at 8.1m (likely)

I think it’s likely we have 52-58m in cap space if we renounce everyone.

    We also have holds for:

    Lebron
    Rui
    Kennard
    Hayes

First order of business should be to make a damn trade and get rid of some of that deadwood. I’ve been asking for a few seasons to get rid of Vando - I feel like that’s really the very least we need to do.
