Excellent half of basketball in game 2 so far, some great defense on both sides, refs letting a lot go out there so it’s very physical, night and day from the nonsense of the OKC series. Towns has been great on both ends, 17 points, 7 boards, a block and a steal, some nice assists as well. He’s really been physical with Wemby and has him off his game so far, only 7 points on 4 shots.

Sabonis had two back to back top 10 MVP seasons and was injured last year. The Kings want to move him and would be willing to let him go for a first. That’s the definition of selling low… it reminds me a bit of the Gasol situation before he got here.

I don’t want him, but then I don’t particularly want Turner either. I’m just throwing names out there on guys who could be available to us.

The Knicks look like the better team in this series so far.

Looks like Spurs hitting some physical wall like Boston did with young J&J? Don't look like the same team that played OKC.

Wemby looking scared like Chet out there!

Wemby is struggling against physical play. He’s not strong enough to handle the banging yet.

if the Spurs find a way to overcome that, it will be pretty impressive.

Sabonis is Jokic Lite. He is kind of a Pau Gasol player in that he does everything well and is very talented. He is a star that could be traded and look a lot better in a good organisation.

Send him to Boston and they’ll win a championship.

This looks a bit like the OKC Westbrook, Harden and Durant in that final together. They just weren’t ready.

Landry Shamet was almost out of the league and now he is a legitimate 3&D piece that’s a huge difference maker.

this Mitch Johnson guy is getting severely outcoached. They have a super-skilled 7"4 guy going against a soft as hell center in KAT, and all he does is taking deep 3s and mid-range shots

seems like they spent the entire season trying to beat OKC, and forgot they still had to win the finals.

He's a good player, but not for what we need. He can't protect the rim or shoot. He is a hub big man, like Hartenstein but with less post defense. I get he's a triple double threat, but that might be this eras empty stats. Defense and shooting is a better indicator of well roundedness now.

Sabonis is great, but in terms of fit, if I'm taking a shot on a physically suspect max player, I'd rather gamble on bringing AD back.

The Knicks are playing harder right now as well though, like they are all over the place on defense, the offensive glass, they look like they really want it, and the Spurs look a little shaken by the physicality. I still think this could be a long series, but the Knicks look like a team prepared for this, full of players that have paid their dues and feel like it’s their time. The Spurs look like they aren’t quite ready to take it yet, although it’s early, they just may in the end if Wemby plays a little better. I’m rooting for the Knicks though, don’t need the Spurs winning yet, and I do think as much as I laughed at the time, that it’s admirable Brunson took less to be able to make their team deeper.

yeah the Knicks have been going on deep playoff runs for 4 years now I think? Most of these Spurs kids were still in college 4 years ago.

A few minutes after you posted this Weezy, the momentum shifted back to the Spurs. They really turned up the intensity with their perimeter defenders and killed the Knicks offense throughout the 4th. 1 min to go and it’s anyone’s game right now.

Wemby heard all the talk about playing soft and he had a heck of a second half.

I am sorry if this was Austin and Luka they would be crying the way these games are being called. I can also see JJ in the after game interviews doing the same.

Yeah, Wemby woke up. Knicks hold on in the end, bad pass by Wemby, missed last shot by Wemby. This series isn’t over, but the Knicks have to be thrilled with where they’re at. Brunson hasn’t even played that well either, he’s really struggling against the Spurs defense, but he’s hitting big shots at the end of both games still. Fantastic game, super physical old school basketball, both teams playing incredibly hard, again, just night and day from that flipping nonsense in the OKC series.
