I can read that just fine and I categorically don't agree with it. Just because you wrote it doesn't mean it's indisputable truth. I place much more value on the actual categorized talents of the "interchangeable pieces". In your NBA view. He's a rare talent at a reasonable price. Hopefully. Don't bother telling me I'm wrong because that's exactly what's going to happen. Deal with it and stop telling us we're all wrong. That's the real problem.
We're all mostly wrong and just speculate. Hell, I wanted Russell in the draft, and he sucks donkey ba**s. That's what makes the banter fun. Sucks when it gets personal, and I'm guilty myself of it a lot of the time if not more than that. I went on a research dive last night. It's pretty cool. I'll PM you. You'll like it. It isn't all Anti-Reaves, but it's stuff you'll enjoy reading if you like.
Dallas will NEVER get over the Luka trade to the Lakers. N E V E R If you don’t understand that, I don’t know what to tell you. Carry on in fantasyland.
I'm sure there's a price where Dallas would do a deal with us. Like if Rob called tomorrow and said give us Gafford for 3 firsts and 2 swaps, they'd do it. But obviously we wouldn't do that. It really us unfortunate because our rosters are pretty natural trade partners at this point. They're now pivoting to a Flagg timeline and have a few guys (Gafford, PG, Marshall, even Max) that should probably sell for picks.
You are joking right? I would trade AR straight up for Chet, Jdub, Castle, or Harper. Both teams have a Big 3 with a bunch of good role players. SGA was traded for a MVP candidate (at the time) in Paul George. All of the other stars were high draft picks. See the trend here? Those type of players are incredibly hard to get. That's why you don't trade an all star level player for role players (ie Caruso, Quickley) that you can pick up via free agency or via smaller trades.
Abeer we discussed this once back regarding Dejounte but don't recall your explanation. And now saw you suggest a similar player and I'm really curious. You threw Dejounte and Quickley names as options for that 3rd spot, what's your line of thinking? Their main skill is ball handling which I think is almost useless in a Luka/AR (and Bron) team. They both can shoot and are ok (Quickley)to good (Dejounte) defenders but aren't necessarily known for being spot up shooters. I know Quickley has a huge volume and makes a ton so I may be wrong on him but I see him as this quick guard that can do a bit of everything without being elite at nothing. They're both the archetype of a player that I wouldn't think would fit well with this group, so I'm curious on your line of thinking Yeah any trade with Dallas will be heavily scrutinized and a new GM probably wants to avoid that. But it can happen, it just makes any deal a bit more harder and likely a bitmore expensive I think Flagg is kinda ready and don't see the point of Mavs blowing it up, I think they want him playing meaningful basket so he can grow faster. I may be wrong
my first priority is perimeter defense in the starting lineup. murray's has slipped, but i believe it's still in there, lol. both of those guys are big enough to put on a lot of sgs, too. this allows reaves to take the opposition's weaker guard as a primary assignment, which is good (in the post-lebron future, we'll have a sf/pf to do that for luka). offensively, both are competent shooters who can also really attack closeouts and make plays off that. also, you'll probably note that i just kind of believe that luka and austin will get people better shots, such that even meh shooters can become capable enough to keep defenses honest. edit: also, murray would have to be a buy-low candidate for sure. he's coming off two serious injuries and hasn't shown a sustained return to form. i'd consider eating half his salary a favor, and if NO doesn't see it that way, i'm probably not pulling the trigger. dallas also doesn't control their pick for a while, iirc, so they're going to try to win. i think people saw them dump AD and thought they were tanking, but i think they just weren't confident AD was ever going to be AD again (i agree, sadly--we got out at just the right time there). they'll give it a go with kyrie this year, and if he's also cooked, they'll use his expiring the next year (maybe they'll grant everyone's wish here and trade him for reaves then, lol).
No im not joking.of course you would make those trades because all of those players are interchangeable . You know who you wouldn’t trade? SGA,Wemby,Luka because as Rob said the hardest player to get is a young superstar who your team can ride to a championship.Everyone else is just a glorified role player in reality
