Thompson will be an absolute beast in a few seasons, once the game slows down for him. I would absolutely love him on our team! Right now, he’s a much better version of LaRavia with three times the athleticism. He will figure it out.
yeah, it's kind of psycho stuff, but you knew he was like that since duke. he likes the villain role, and that's probably good if you want to be the lakers' coach.
Him having some kind of genious plan is probably the Lakers' only chance of competing against the Thunder.
just finished saying this in the other thread, but there's zero chance that happens. the reasons we're losing this series now are that we can't shoot and can't take care of the ball. those aren't coaching issues. we got plenty of good looks, and the turnovers weren't born from poor scheme but just awful attention to detail, a lot of it from our vets.
This makes no sense. We were never supposed to be 3-0 and that has to be valued (and is surely valued by anyone connected to the organization)
interesting that he said "turnovers of aggression are ok" but pointed out the throw-aheads as the non-negotiables. to me, a few of our really bad TOs were hyper-aggressive. and i get that you want to be looking for easy opportunities, but there's a point at which hyper-aggression is actually a form of fear/lack of confidence. it's akin to taking the early clock pull-up three, if that makes sense.
He out coached Udoka, now he's getting schooled. I think, he still has a trick up his sleeve... he better.
We gotta let Sengun go 1 on 1 on Ayton and stay with the shooters. Ayton had good games guarding him and Alpe is a better passer than shooter. It's a common tactic used against this type of bigs and basically shuts down the rest of their team
We had an excellent game plan in the 1st game with Kennard on ball and Lebron in the paint. As they took away LeBron’s ability to operate out of the post, it’s worn down Lebron more and more creating from the perimeter. They then adjusted against Kennard and took him out of the game in game 3-5. And our offense has struggled in the last 10 quarters compared to the first 10 of the series. We need to make our own adjustments on Sengun and Reed and really punish them. Even if we slow down our offense having to reset multiple times with screens. At the very least try to get Thompson in a double and then rotate quickly to get an open shot. Rui has really been frustrating there, he gets the looks but pump fakes instead of going up for the 3 as his release is a bit slow. Hopefully with Reaves back, Kennard can operate as the shooter now as his shot is quicker.
