I'm just glad they are healthy for the most part. Thankfully, most of the Lakers big injuries thus far occurred early into the season *knock on wood*. It could easily happen right now and if any one of the three (reaves, luka, Bron) are out, the Lakers basically have no chance of winning anything.

I'm hoping Luka can ride this hot streak into the playoffs. He's playing unreal right now but is it sustainable? 13 3PA the past ten games at a 40% clip is just insane.

One negative I'm seeing in this is it's relying heavily on Luka just scoring like a madman. What if Luka has a bad game? Who steps up? Can Reaves/LeBron cover a bad game from Luka and still give you a great game? lakers are going to need 80 points from Luka, Reaves, and Bron every game to win.

Luka is definitely outperforming his contract this season.

With the T wolves loss tonight our magic number to secure the 3 seed is 6 vs Denver and our magic number is 5 for the 4 spot over Minny and Houston. Either way we’re getting HCA first round. I still like the 3 seed for us. OKC is not a lock for the 1 either. Spurs are nipping at their heels.

Wemby with less minutes played than Bron, yet the latter, is not eligible for any awards because of this "65 games" BS.
OKC will play hard against us since Spurs are on their a**, i hope we beat them twice and send them to no.2 spot :D (even though our starters could use some rest).

Lakers are now 16-2 over their last 18 as they beat a good Cavs team at the Crypt, 127-114 and began the 4th up 27. I was afraid they we would look flat after playing two very bad teams, and we were on a BTB, but so was CLE, who won in Utah yesterday.

Luka with 42 with 12 dimes so he was involved in about 50% of all Lakers scoring. That's some freakin' sick azz jit right there.

CLE is long, with Jarret Allen and Mobley. They also got 3-pt bomber Struss back. Still, we routed them. Donovan Mitchell played 24 mins, went 4-10 for 10 points and missed all his 3s. Maybe the play of the game was 3 secs after the opening tip: Mitchell gets a breakaway off the tip, and Lebron chases it down for a block and it was a thing of beauty, my f(r)iends.

Everyone played well. Lebron and Jake with 14, DA with 18 and AR with 19.

Nervous time now: in OKC on THUR night. I have seen SGA get called for offensive fouls with his forearm shimmy, including what would have been the game-winner against a short-handed DET the other night. So, we'll see. OKC does nothing but foul, all the time, every play, just daring the refs to call jit. DET was w/o Duren, Cade, and Tobias Harris and forced OT and played OKC tough all night.

Oh yea: big game in the Toilet Dome tonight as Clips hosted POR, who are right behind them in the standings for the #8 spot. Tiago Splitter told his team this was the most important game of the year so far. Mega billionaire Ballmer was there in his same shirt, sitting behind the end line. Clips went into halftime down 16. With 3:42 left in the 3rd Darius Garland stole the ball and then hit a 3-footer to cut the lead to 8. Clips need to come back against this POR team. Did they? Naw: Scoot Henderson hit a corner 3 at the buzzer to end the 3rd with Blazers back up 17. Clips made some runs, but POR clawed back the lead and ended up winning by 10. Lotsa disappointment leaking out of the Toilet Bowl tonight. Jrue played Kawhi "Smiley" Leonard tight and Kawhi missed all his 3s and ended up with 23. Jrue himself hit 7 3s, and scored 30. Money ain't buying ya everything, Ballmer. Damn straight.

A win in OKC wipes out that miserable showing we gave against the Bags in LA. Just my own metaphysics there.

Big time win tonight against a very good Cavs team that had beaten us three times in a row. Man, can we talk about that stupendous third quarter we had? 45 points for us in the third. We looked flat out dominant.

Another mindblowing 40 plus point performance from Luka, Austin wowing the crowd and bench with those crazy drop off passes to LeBron and Rui again, and Ayton with a magnificent game including 5 offensive boards. Jake played great D and didn’t miss a shot.

Wow! Good night for us Laker fans. Magic number for the 3 spot down to 4. Keep it rolling! This was a fun one to watch.

It is so nice to see this team beating the teams that used to beat us, all the time. Now, they gotta think about it and worry.

I was a big supporter of AD but even when he played, our ceiling was not nearly as high as it is with Luka. He makes everyone around him better. The big three all do but Luka is amazing. He definitely opens the floor and makes it so nobody can guard him or the other guys. And all in slooowwwww motion!!!

Might as well sum this one up because the competitive portion is already over. Really doesn't matter what happens the rest of the game when you're down 30 in the middle of the second quarter.

Thought it was a pretty pathetic showing by Luka in the first quarter. Started off with that weird 15 foot one handed push shot that got blocked, then had some sloppy turnovers. Thought he got fouled on a three and stopped to complain to the ref which gave Shai an easy basket in transition. I thought he lost his composure after the early turnovers and with OKC hitting everything to start.

This is just a bad matchup for Reaves, I don't know how anyone can deny it when it looks the same every time. These OKC defenders are quick enough to beat him to his spots and strong enough to stand him up when he gets there. He's struggling just to bring the ball up the court against these guys, gets sped up, and turns the ball over.

LeBron is the only guy that has played with any composure so far. He's not lighting it up or anything, hasn't even made a basket, but he's the only guy that doesn't look sped up by their ball pressure.

Those two dump-off passes that Ayton dropped were killer. This game just looks to fast for him.

We have absolutely no one who can contain the ball right now, which is a back breaker against this team. I don't want to see any more b****ing in the Luka thread about Shai probably winning MVP for a while, he's been worlds better than Luka tonight.

OKC is stacked 9 deep with defenders and scorers and those scorers also aren’t missing outside shots.
If the Lakers were to beat the Thunder in a game or series, they would have to play fundamental basketball and basically never miss shots.

We got our a** handed to us. Combination of a terrible game from our guys top to bottom and a great game from OKC top to bottom.

Totally agree with sk's assessment, those early turnovers and OKC hitting everything sunk us and a few guys got rattled including Luka & Reaves.

Difference of philosophy : Tough defense with depth against offensive stars with no depth .

No surprise which one always has worked

Austin doesn't have a Kyrie caliber handle, so we're going to have issues against teams, that have perimeter players, capable of putting some ball pressure on him and Luka.

The switch everything defense has problems with multiple guys, that can attack off the dribble and hit outside shots. Just a bad night all around. The Thunder came out looking to send a message and we got caught flat footed. Gotta flush this one and move on.

Hopefully Luka is ready to go for the playoffs, We have 5 games left, I wouldn't try to rush him back, just in order to chase a seed, those hamstring strains are tricky.

What went Right: (one solitary Laker fan, Kobe jersey, screaming in space, where there is no sound, but you see the agony on his face. If I can read lips, it looks like "What the F***was that?" But I'm not sure.)

What went Wrong: How much time ya got?

When it was 60-28 with 3 minutes left in the 2nd Q, the pain was so great I dimmed the sound and started to read the Book of Job, King James version; I needed some company. And I'm not even a believer; I simply sought solace.

Isn't there a Geneva Convention item agains this sort of thing in their international agreement about torture?

Yeah I had to stop watching at the half. Should have been a mercy rule in action. Terrible that Luka went down. I saw him grabbing that hammy in the first and was concerned. If he can’t get healthy by the first round the season is going to be over. He’s just too important.
