Bronny has been really good in G league. 50/40/90 splits? Wonder if he'll make the all g league team (his ppg probably too low)

He didn’t play a ton, 13 mins, but i thought he looked fine. Had a dunk and made a 12-15 foot jumper late when they were cutting the lead way down. Maybe wasn’t great on defense, but we play switching everything so it’s hard to tell how his actual man defense would have been, plus nobody else played great either to close really.

Inserted early in a contested game for his 33rd game of the season.
    Hmmmmm, interesting.
All that aside, he played well on D.

Yes. A 2 point shot up 13 is what sealed the game. SMDH.

I thought he looked solid. My thoughts on him remain the same - if he can keep improving on defense he can stick around the league for awhile even if he's not here.

it's funny how much his three point makes look like his dad's. they both have that same sort of old school release on the jumper (this is how i shot them, and different than how, say, curry shoots them) and an arc that's maybe a little flatter than most three point shooters'.

    Lakers praise Bronny James
The Lakers took a comfortable lead on the Pacers Wednesday night, allowing head coach JJ Redick to play James. In 13 minutes off the bench, James recorded four points, one rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block, acting as a spark on both ends of the floor.

    JJ Redick
“He’s gotten significantly better,” Redick said of James on the Spectrum SportsNet broadcast. “I know our staff has a lot of confidence in him. Felt like this was a game we really needed him. He had two really, really good defensive possessions, individual defense, in the first half.

“I think the biggest thing with him is he’s got a lot of confidence right now. I know he didn’t make his 3 tonight, but he’s got a lot of confidence in his shot right now. He’s having a fantastic season with South Bay. He’s been, arguably, the best player for the last three or four weeks in our stay-ready games. He’s got a bounce to his step right now, and I think that just comes from developing that confidence.”

    Luka Doncic
“Definitely a big improvement from last year. I saw in training camp he was doing some stuff that I was really impressed with. He did a great job today. Big game from him, that pull-up two was a big bucket. It was probably one of the most important shots of the game. I think he did really great in those minutes.”

    Austin Reaves
“He was good. Good minutes. He made one of the biggest shots of the night with a pull-up two. I think we were up 13 at the time, and he got it to 15. He just needs reps. That’s it. Played hard, did what he was supposed to do. I was really happy for him.

“He’s just gotten better every single day. He doesn’t take shortcuts, he loves working, does the right things, keeps his head down, doesn’t care about all the noise. Just continues to work and get better every single day. He also loves to golf. Golf game has gotten a lot better too.”

    Jaxson Hayes
“Obviously he’s a real quick, athletic player. It really shows on the defensive end. I thought he did great today. He got that rebound and dunk, he had a bunch of other deflections and he was just stopping guys. He did wonderful today.”

Bronny is more athletic than GP2. I mean he is a really stand out athlete. If he can develop as a 3&D in the form of Ellis - smaller guy that can defend 1’s and 2’s - would be huge!

    im rooting for the kid

Bronny ending up being the better pick from 2024 is quite the plot twist…

How come it's only ME that gets hammered with the Bronny will never in his lifetime be an NBA rotational player by OX? Clearly other respected members see what I do with the strength, athleticism, improving skills all around in just a year and a half. He just turned 21! LG is the same as with AR ..... LOTS of people can see all this (whether it's with Lakers or elsewhere .... I'm hoping with Lakers) .... while there's a tiny group that seems oblivious to it and only states as incontrovertible fact that he will NEVER be an NBA player, like AR will never be worthy as a #2 to Luka and huge mistake to sign at his max or near it.

i'm not as bullish on bronny as some, but i've never thought it was a bad use of the 55th pick. he didn't deserve 2 fully guaranteed years--that was for dad--but he's probably outperformed a big chunk of guys taken ahead of him in that draft.

    this is the second round:

bronny has probably been better than at least half of them.

It’s commendable how hard he’s clearly worked, how he carries himself, goes out and plays and doesn’t seem to seek any special treatment based on who his dad is. He’s improved a lot in a short time, he has contributed in real games and looked in control where last season when he would check in he looked shaky as hell and guys went at him on offense and defense. I don’t know what his career looks like long-term, but he’s an easy kid to root for, he clearly to me wants to do this and takes it seriously, and it makes all that Stephen A nonsense from last season look even worse, so ridiculous and over the top.

Anyway, G-League stats don’t mean a ton on their own, but you can still take stuff from them and how he’s played, he had a really good season and the team has won a lot

I wasn’t sure of his trajectory but a lot of that had to do with his heart issue. Bronny always looked like a sound player. I never saw a star but I have always saw a great athlete with a lot of his old man’s work ethic. Add that with a good attitude and respect for the game, and I never had an issue with us taking him. If he had been taken in the first round I’d get it but he was a late second. Exactly the time to take a kid of his caliber and potential upside IMO.

I still can’t say where his career ends up but he’s came in and worked hard. He’s also dealt really well with double the normal pressure that comes with being a Laker because of his dad.

I think he has a real chance to carve out a niche for himself.

if he had gotten even his little brother Bryce’s height this a completely different conversation.
