reaves is a max player - period. Yes he has to show it in the playoffs and elevate his game even more, but I have a good feeling we're going to see him take another step in the playoffs.
i still find myself shocked he wasn't even a first rounder. and i remember watching highlights from college and being like...but can he do that against the pros (narrator: he could). but still, the talent was obvious. the fact that he basically looks like the college guy in the nba is something scouts will have to scrutinize. like, in a play in the denver game, he had the presence of mind on a drive to see it was jokic on the back line and know that despite his own athletic limitations, jokic couldn't block his shot, so he just went right at him and scored. i feel like other guys would have just quickly seen "big" and adjusted strategy. he just processes the game faster and has elite eye-hand coordination (like luka).
Couldn't buy a basket, but what a defensive number did he do on Durant.... and team defense. 5 steals?
We have a couple of guys that are all about wanting to win and effort. He leaves it all out there whether he sucks that night or not, he almost always makes up for off nights with effort in some other area.. his will to win is incredible and hard to find with all of these spoiled overpaid boat anchors. I hope his shot starts falling this will make this team incredibly hard to outscore even with average defensive efforts.
Houston is just a bad matchup for Reaves it seems. Their length and size across five positions just gives him too issues. Rockets keep trying to switch Thompson onto him and Reaves can't match that size and athleticism.
It's a concern with AR witih certain teams but I have no idea why the Lakers didn't try to drag Sengun into the PnR game with AR as the ballhandler. Felt the playcalling didn't help him tonight
Let’s not iverreact to this. He missed a loooot of looks he normally makes and Thompson was not a factor in most of them. AR was spent on defense, so probably impacted some of those. That’s why you have him and Luka. And Bron.
Exactly. He's shown me enough this season not to be concerned after these 2 games. BTW, him and Bron are the perfect combo of potential 2nd options for Luka depending on the matchup. Tougher, more athletic, defensive minded team - you go Bron. Otherwise, it's Austin's time to shine. Depending on the matchups in the playoffs, both could be huge.
