This is just killing me - how many times are we going to watch physical guards and wings (from Brooks to Brown and even Pritchard) just use that shoulder into the chest extend forearm "move" before JJ gives Theiro a shot. Play this guy you got nothing to lose - this team aint going anywhere anyway if you don't fix this.
JJ is still an idiot for not playing the guy who could help out with our TWO most glaring weaknesses: defense and athleticism. I don’t care if he’s a rookie and will make mistakes. Luka, LeBron and Austin make mistakes nearly every game! It’s not like we even have a chance at a title. We may not even make the playoffs at this rate. I’m so frustrated with the lack of player development here over the past TEN seasons. It’s inexcusable.
man, if he can hit that catch and shoot three from all those different spots already... i think we need to get someone else to do that. he can play the sf/pf opposite luka on defense, taking the tougher assignment.
Im surprised he can shoot a 3 (his shot looked funky as hell). Good to see, maybe he's the one young guy we'll actually hold on to.
yeah, i feel personally burned on that one and it has definitely chastened me a bit on our projects. i mean...he did look good, though! what's weird about him is that his defense got worse over time instead of better, which is unusual, especially for guys who come in young. i'd also say that THT's skillset was the kind that needed to develop into a primary offensive option, and maybe that was always going to be a limiting factor. at least thiero's got a clear and obvious role and path (start as a DFS type forward, build from there).
Development year for him. Which is fine, probably smart, but I do wish we’d develop guys in the big league for next season instead of pretending we’re competing for a championship this year
Translation... my a** is on fire and I am too scared for my job to gamble even 2 minutes for a rookie. All because I am a fake "smart" guy who has, so far, failed to implement an offensive or a defensive identity. That of course, not including the "let Luka chuck" and "switch ALL" identities.
we're weirdly talking about this in the hayes thread, but with laravia/rui/vando as the forward options, can it really hurt to try it out here and there? and i've made the argument that it's hard to pull guys from the rotation solely because they miss shots, but you can't shorten some shifts here and there?
Chances are real good we can’t win a ring this year but I don’t think anyone on the team or coaching staff is “pretending” for appearances and not going to give it their best shot. It’s the Lakers. Goes both ways … not just fans deciding they can’t so they roll over and quit. Injuries will play a roll invariably. Not to say I don’t agree Adou should get some run and experience THIS year.
