At this point, that's fine. Like I said a couple pages ago, just dump a corpse so we can be buyout players. We should be able to bring in two if we're not taking on a player.

It's a far cry from my original wish of addressing a long term need, finding a building block. Every report makes it clear that ain't happening.

Just get Gabe off my screen (I think DK is more likely though)

 

We're going nowhere atm; this roster is worse than last year's post-trade deadline.

We need a DFS-type trade at least to give us a puncher's chance at the ring.

We'd still not be favorites, but s*** can happen. Remember how Toronto won a ring, just because the better teams than them just kept falling apart with injuries.

We need to step it up in these talent evaluations. We have a thing for going for guys that fall below their draft projections. Maybe they fell for valid reasons? On that note..Who is charge of scouting and player development now?

Part of my frustration is that Austin contract was like rookie deal for a franchise QB. Never was able to leverage that to get the final pieces for another title run

Austin wasn't this totally unknown, brilliant scouting department find as hyped tho. Teams knew about him, he said that he thought he was heading to Milwaukee. Funny enough, LeBron takes credit for elevating Austin from a two way prospect, to a regular roster spot. Great pickup regardless..kudos to everyone involved.

 

It’s a massive Fail this deadline if all we do is dump yet another player by having to give up another asset.
Now, if we pickup a buyout player like DeRozen, then I’ll be fine with it. Then Rob gets a “D.”
That’s what our moves have been relegated to: dump players so we can pick up different dumped players.
That’s pathetic. Cornering yourself into a situation where you literally have to hit multiple home runs this summer to build a proper team is just not smart.
