Almost cost the Lakers with his boneheaded plays... Looks back, sees a Suns player trailing him for that wide open layup, still decides to do a behind-the-back pass. Instead of holding the ball and waiting for Luka+Bron to come, he decides to take advantage of a bait play and got his floater blocked. Then fouls Allen for no reason.
Yikes on some of those horrible decisions. I love Smart’s D but he has a bit of a savior complex here and he’s trying to do too much that isn’t necessary when you have Luka and LeBron (and Reaves when healthy). Marcus needs to just focus on the 3s and D.
Those three 3s in the 3rd were big time It's always a bit of a roller coaster with Marcus but overall I've been very pleased with his starting slot. The first of the Memphis games this calendar year, he was great in. In the 3 games this month he's up to 34 mpg, for his health sake I think we need to dial that down just a hair.
yeah, been a little disappointed in the turnovers, but overall, hard to complain with his effort and play. But he DEF needs to be under 30 minutes.
At this point in his career, Marcus should be an awesome 7th/8th guy. Problem is we need him to be the 5th guy.
smart in place of goodwin looking even worse than i thought it could. again, don't think anyone would have made a different choice at the time, but it was clearly the wrong one.
He's a character. This was interesting Full on, unchecked But it worked. He's very consistent with if he's a zero in a game, he's going to crush it the next game. This one, he brought it I still take Smart because he can QB the defense and the stars respect him. Both have immense value and I love Goodwin, but Bron and Luka ain't listening to him
well, i take both and cut bronny. since that wasn't possible, i pick goodwin, who's been a much better player overall this year. we're near midseason, and goodwin has the statistical profile that you'd trade two firsts for, lol. smart's been good--maybe better than i expected, tbh. but goodwin's been great as a role player in phx, playing the same role he would have here, imo. as for the stars listening...we're one of the league's worst defenses. nobody's listening to anybody.
Are we talking about the same guy, that shot 20% from the field and didn't make a single three point shot against Minnesota? JJ wouldn't play him in the playoffs, if he was here, that's why they let him walk.
