This roster won't be the same after the trade deadline, IMO. Rob will make changes, IMO.

Austin will likely be out for a min for a couple of weeks, IMO.

Waiting to see if Smart has any after effects from his shoulder injury. If not, I'm guessing he'll probably the one taking Reaves spot.

Rui needs to come out of the starting lineup too, even without Austin.

^I'd be fine with that. No problem. However, Smart's "shooting" isn't close to Austin's and given Reddick's approach to "spacing," and Rui's ability to shoot, he'll likely keep him out there, IMO.

I'd be fine inserting Smart into Reaves spot (while he's injured) & putting LaRavia & just giving the starting 5 a different look, IMO. In the press conference yesterday, JJ said, "we've looked at everybody," but he hasn't tried different combinations in the starting 5 where the crux of the issue is and we come listless and down by 10 or more out the gate.

We're climbing up hill all game after that; it's ridiculous.

Well JJ made a point of criticizing Ham, for switching lineups soo much. I think that's part of his reluctance, to pulling Rui from the starting lineup. He doesn't seem too fond, of playing young guys a lot either. He needs to get over that with the rook too IMO.

Kings are a weird organization: I want to think they're doing a masterful tanking job but look at this minutes distrubition and see if it makes any sense
    Ellis 22, Monk, 19, Schroeder 19, Brick 26.

What Went Right? I wanna say we played SAC on a BTB, but still: the Lakers actually played some defense.

At one point we were up what? 32? Can't piss a lead like that away in the 2nd half at home after the sports world started asking: What's wrong with the Lakers?

Good ball movement, better paint protection.

Nick Smith's offense looks really good. We're gonna need him with AR out until February.

    Losing streak: broken.

A major test to see if this team cares enough: Tue night vs. DET. Clips beat the Pistons tonight behind Kawhi's 55.

Team came out and took care of business which is all you can ask for. We looked solid on both ends and were engaged the whole way. Also ran organized office most of the game.

Yeah, was nice to see. Have to keep it up. Getting a win over a good Detroit team and heading into the new year would really be nice.

Agreed. I feel like when we lock in and execute we are tough to beat. Team needs a quality win.

Watching Westbrick BRICK layups brought me joy, again.
Thiero not getting meaningful minutes, until garbage time, did not.

Lakers get blown out by a younger, quicker, faster and more physical team that plays defense. Piston beat Lakers 128-106, and though the Lakers came back from being 15 down to tie it in the 3rd Q, I knew they'd soon be down 5 again, then 9, then 11. And so it was. Pistons owned the paint, shot 63 % for the game.

Luka had 8 turnovers and a lot of them were telegraphed passes or just being guarded really closely and having his pocket picked. He was 9 for 22 by 3 for 11 from 3 and his 3 ball hasn't been there for quite a long time now.

I had no idea AR meant this much to the Lakers. We all knew he was important, but I had no idea.

DET plays really good D and have 3-4 guys who are borderline thugs. We played good defense for about 3 minutes in the 3rd Q before relaxing.

This is a weird Lakers team: had a great record, but when they lost it was by a lot. And now it's just losing by a lot and looking like a play-in team.

I don't see any improvement this year and I wonder if any roster moves can make that much of a difference.

Meh..if we are at full strength and losing, that's one thing, getting beat shorthanded, by a good team isn't grounds, for throwing in the towel on the season.

No Rui, I honestly thought that the next guy in line would be Theiro. Instead he plays Maxi. Adou seemed like a good fit vs Detroit’s athletic front court. JJ really hates young players doesn’t he? Lol. The NBA is trending towards fast, athletic wings. We have one of the most athletic wings in this past year’s draft and choose not to play him in any meaningful minutes.

the few games we had everyone we maybe looked worse than when we just had luka/reaves early. part of that is luka and reaves were both playing insanely well for the first few weeks, though.

edit: btw, our next two games are against memphis. i just watched them, and they can do EXACTLY what detroit did to us. if the morant i saw last night shows up, he's going to tear us apart, and we have no real counter.

How many games was that 4? We have never stopped or slowed any top guard when they are on. I don't recall this happening much even with the chip team. I am wondering who is doing that in the league right now. Dudes have off nights but the top guys are roasting everybody. If we were talking random scrubs that's another thing. I would attack us off the dribble too..we don’t strike any fear into anyone, coming into the paint. I mean...Vando is the only dude on the team willing to smack somebody, and he's light in the a** as it is.
