Reaves (groin) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times reports.

 

bummer. not sure we can continue the next man up stuff against french godzilla.

 

We had an interesting approach last year, fronting him and denying the entry pass.

Suns defendem him very well recently too, mostly double and triple teaming as soon as he took the first dribble. Without Fox (and now Harper), they don't have enough offensively to sustain not having Wemby leading the offense

groin injuries are always a pain. Even if he's feeling alright they're going to treat him with kid gloves to make sure they reduce any risk of recurrence.

Look what happened to Clark this year and the Lakers traing staff is doubly on high alert with Lebron being taken out twice with groin injuries for long periods of time

Since the win record is good - it's going to push them further into take it slow approach

Their banter of who had the better 3 that didn't count -- Luka's 3/4 court vs. Austin's half court was hilarious. These two are a trip



3 years ago crystal ball this and ask who was the best backcourt to start a season at any point in the next 5 years while doing historical things, 0% chance anyone is picking Luka and Austin Reaves.

With new ownership and at some point, new members of management and scouting, etc. maybe homegrown success story will mean less. But this is another reason that as long as Jeanie and Rob have a position with the team, I think Austin is staying put. He's a walking advertisement/billboard for our scouting and development.

 

the media/opposing fans predictable pivot from "reaves isn't that good" to "well, they're going to have to pay him so much" is pretty funny.

i mean, if he earns a max, he earns a max. he'll be staying here as luka's #2, helping keep the reviled lakers relevant for the next several years.
