6th man. In and out of line up doesn't throw chemistry off as much.

Think it's just a precautionary mixed with "I know what I'm doing because I've been in the league for 22+ years" situation.

LeBron's at the point where these practices won't do anything for him. It's more-so for the new and younger guys to find their rhythm and how they fit into the system.

Team chemistry is important, especially for the starting unit. LeBron at 6th man keeps either Luka or LeBron on the court most of the game. Makes it easier to adjust LeBron's minutes for health and LeBron still wants the ball in his hands at times, this allows for that. There are so many advantages to this. He could even still close games if needed, especially for the playoffs. The only con is really about ego. Team before Ego should be this season's mantra.

It is total BS, can't pay much attention to idiots like that. These are the kind of people who turn to assassinations.

62-65 games at best and 28-32 mins for the old man; sit out back to backs.

Be fresh for next April-June if we're fortunate enough to be there.

Lebron suffered the first knee injury of his career against Minnesota. Amazing considering how much milage he has on him, and his style of play for most of his career.

He could, no doubt, I'm thinking he will sit some games for load management and I would like to keep some continuity. I know it isn't happening but IMO it would be best for the team and LeBron for all the reasons I've stated before. Injuries might make it irrelevant. As long as we are sipping from the cup next summer, all is good...lol.

I'd like to see him sit for a longer period, after his first break. Bring him back a little past the hallway mark, of the 2nd quarter to close the 1st half. A little longer run in the 3rd quarter, so he's fresher in the 4th to close out the game. Scaling his minutes for more availability in the 2nd halves of games.

I totally respect LeBron, his legacy, his story, what he's done for us...

But since he joined the PO and therefore since the Lakers looked beyond the LeBron project, I've put aside my expectations for our 2025/26 season, knowing that it will be a transitional year toward the beginning of a new chapter, that of Luka's Lakers.

I don't know if I expect a half-baked LeBron, if I expect a few more aches and pains than in the past given his age, but whatever comes, I'll take it with a bit more positive resignation, because it seems obvious to me that we're waiting for much more to make the Lakers truly competitive again.

Seems the laker fanbase never really took Lebron in like one of its own. I see lots of fans writing him off, wanting to minimise him or actively waiting for him to leave.

For me, Lebron even over 40, may be the best player Luka will ever play with. Seems asinine to not got for the chip with these two.

Agree. And when he load manages or is injured we have a damned good start at looking at the roster once he's finally not here. If graced with health, like every other team needs to be graced with health of their KEY players. With the roster we have now we aren't going to fall off a cliff competitively. Finally, because of Luka and having added Jake and Ayton and still having Rui here. Rui gets to show how much or if he's just not worth keeping for post LeBron. And with AR here of course and Smart here, who does need to be healthy for the playoffs. Healthy Vando, and have added Kleber and a souped up Hayes :giggle: (hopefully the added muscle helps). The big thing for when LeBron is out is the quality depth we have added. But if LeBron is not available in the playoffs, that takes us down a bunch from a real good puncher's chance.

From all that was accomplished in the off season, and with our trade powder still dry do or did you expect perfection in one fell swoop?

    This!

And this! With the trade powder still dry and moves from a position of strength at or prior to the deadline. As we have to get value from our expirings we aren't going to keep and the pick, and maybe Dalton who hopefully looks good enough to keep.

I agree with most everything being said. We have to be all in for the chip this season. It's crazy to me how much is being made about "Championship Shape" and how much better shape the players are in this year. Professional athletes making all that money and tons of time don't show up in shape? My main difference in thought is how to get LeBron to the finish line.. Foot issues, groan issues, glutes, these are the type of things that really limit a player. The other thing is all the cliche bs about chemistry. High IQ is cool and helps but chemistry comes from playing together.
