    8/25 Transactions
    IN Kenny Pickett QB
    IN Amari Cooper WR
-If we're losing Meyers, and I'm hoping we're not, Cooper is an okay replacement. At his price tag, he would be a good addition if Meyers sticks around.

    OUT Ayedze T
    OUT Hufford C
    OUT Clements T
    -No surprises.

    OUT Ismail TE
    OUT K. Jackson WR
    OUT Callaway WR
    OUT Dorsett WR
    OUT C. Johnson WR
-Adding Cooper definitely took a spot away from someone.

    OUT Booker DT
    OUT Coburn DT
    OUT Carter DE
    OUT Joyner DE
    -No real surprises.

    OUT Barrett LB
    OUT Smith LB
    OUT Gainer LB
-A bit surprised about Gainer, but he was mostly a special teamer.

    OUT Humphrey CB
    OUT Webb CB
    OUT Clark S
    -Sam Webb out? Surprising.

Meyers is and has been solid with us. You never know when or what you will get with Cooper.

100%. Coop says he wants to finish what he started. I think of him as a bit of a quitter, a soft dude, but with a ton of athleticism. I'm welcoming him, and I hope he proves me wrong.

Among all qualified WR last season, Cooper was 61st in receiving grade from PFF. There were only 98 qualified receivers. We can also look at what he did well and not well. The list of what he did well was pretty short. He caught balls downfield (22nd best ADOT). He dropped 8 balls and racked up only 2.7 YAC. Not good from a guy who was explosive in the past. That said, he'd rank well ahead of Tre Tucker, the 94th overall WR last season. So, Cooper is probably WR2 at present.

Pickett for a 6th isn't bad. He's already better than most 6th rounders of late. He was rated as the 46th best QB last season, according to PFF. He's one of only two QBs from his draft class to be a starter in two seasons, and he has a career winning record. He was 27th in QBR in 2023, making him a very low-end starter. He's below average in everything except for sack% and int%. So, I guess he avoids mistakes.

We had some chatter on here about him. I don't think he's ready to be a backup. The best thing for him is practice reps and consistency right now.

Kenny Picket in a long line of Raider backups they hope becomes a starter and saves his career. They are hoping this is another Rich Gannon.

I think this is another Jeff Hostetler which was good. Maybe it’s Vince Evans maybe Rick Meyer Jay Schroeder Matt Leinart

He doesn’t have an arm. But maybe he’s fixed some things. You are playing in the dome.

you are on a run heavy team. You have Brock Bowers. You don’t need Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes.

he can sit and learn from Geno Smith. Geno is a 5 pick game pick 6 game from Picket being the starter so we’ll see.

This part is exactly right. He doesn't make a ton of mistakes, but he doesn't have the arm talent to win games. Hard to complain about him as a backup - and for a 6th rounder.

FWIW, I liked Vince Evans. He just threw too many picks.

Notre Dame fan here - Mirer :)

Savage. And it's kind of a self-own, too.

Raiders have some positions of strength, but I'm worried about their LBs, their depth at Safety, and their Defensive Interior. Really sucks about Wilkins.

    Interesting...

OUT AOC QB to IR (this was expected, lets the Raiders grab someone else for now)
    OUT Munford (waived) OT
    IN Stone Forsythe OL
    IN Brennan Jackson LB
-Forsythe has experience with Carroll. Though he played solid snaps last season, he was the 132nd graded OT at PFF, just behind Munford at 125th. He has starting experience. Jackson graded out in limited snaps as a solid pass rusher as a rookie last season. He's an OLB/DE.

They also filled out their practice squad
    QB Cam Miller
    RB Chris Collier
    TE Carter Runyon
    TE Albert Okwuegbunam
    WR Shedrick Jackson
    WR Justin Shorter
    WR Alex Bachman
    OL Antonio Mafi
    OL Laki Tasi
    OL Dalton Wagner
    DI Treven Ma'ae
    DE Jahfari Harvey
    LB Matt Jones
    CB Greedy Vance
    S JT Woods
    S Trey Taylor
    S Terrell Edmunds
    -Good moves.

    Brock Bowers

    Ashton Jeanty

They are one bad season from an NFL dynasty getting Arch Manning what that would look like in Vegas.

    Manning Bowers Jeanty.

    Patrick Mahomes s***.

If I knew that would give us a dynasty, I'd probably be okay with the tank...but I think the Raiders are going to be a better team this year. What do you think? 8 wins? 9 wins?

    IN Tristin McCollum S
    OUT Thomas Harper S

McCollum is 6'3, was solid against the run and poor in coverage. Harper was solid against in coverage and so-so against the run. He was a higher-graded player than McCollum. Harper is younger, while McCollum has more playing experience. Interesting move.
