Slovenia's superstar Luka Doncic will sit out his second straight preparation game for the national team

Doncic is officially out for today's matchup against Lithuania, which tips off at 7:30 p.m. GMT (12:30 p.m. ET).

However, it has been announced that he will be available for tomorrow's game against Latvia.

There's no sense to play B2B in friendly games before championship

I have a feeling that this year is Luka's revenge year. I just have the feeling that we are going to see an MVP, Finals MVP, and a title. I've watched him get revenge for less. And we are seeing a young man who was just told he wasn't good enough. It's on an poppin.

teammate fell onto his knee awkwardly. reminded me a bit of how bynum got injured in 08. this is not good

time to shut him down. there's no reason why he should be out there trying to carry this terrible slovenia team

And he was going to score 40 + points.
The Slovenian star scored 15 points in the first quarter, playing just 9 minutes. At one point, it seemed like the LA Lakers star was toying with his opponents, casually draining a half-court 3-point shot. In the first minute alone, Doncic had made two 3-pointers.

After the conclusion of the first quarter, Luka Doncic had 15 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds.
Doncic had 26 points until he was hurt, scoring all of them by halftime as Slovenia led 52 – 50. Latvia entered the third quarter with a 18 – 0 run to eventually win 100 – 88 behind 20 points by Kristaps Porzingis.
If he's healthy to play he will be one of candidate for most points score at championship

sounds like he escaped serious injury? he was reportedly asking to return to the game but was held out

no reason for him to be playing in these meaningless warmup games

Shut it down. I respect him for playing for his national team, being a gamer and all but just stop. His team sucks anyways.

I understand some wanting him to “shut it down,” but unless there’s a clause in his Lakers contract that prohibits it, you gotta let him play.
If I were in his position, I would want to play for my country as well.

just keep him out of these warmup games. there's no reason to risk anything for games that don't mean anything

even though i don't see the point of him playing for a s***ty slovenia team that's not going anywhere, i don't think there's anything the lakers can do. representing their countries means everything to these euro guys
