At least that's some numbers to look at. Idk..bringing everyone back plus the MLE ,is less of a team than having Lebron on it.

So..basically 37M if Austin gets 30M and Rui walks for nothing. Idk It depends on how Ayton and Smart play. Hard to say at the moment. Keon Ellis? Why is he a perfect fit? Kind of a big leap of faith, with his numbers tho? MLE..ok..Who are the other two targets?

no, but lebron's going very soon, one way or another, so it's not really wise to keep imagining a future with a high performing lebron on the team. there's scenarios where we could add an ellis-level player and bring lebron back at a salary and role more befitting a 41 year old, too.

no, we can sign reaves AFTER all other business using his bird rights. his cap hold (150% of his salary, which is less than what he'll sign for) is all we have to worry about. we can negotiate and agree to the deal and just sign it after we use the rest of the space. this is another reason why we looked at 2026 as a potential cap space year (not 2027, when reaves will be signed at a larger number).

yeah, i was playing worst case. if they opt in, it means they weren't good this year, and thus we weren't good this year, lol.

athletic defender who can take 1s and 2s and knock down shots. think peak young kcp. if you could get him and herb jones to play with luka, reaves, and a hopefully revitalized ayton, you've got quite a squad, imo.

don't know. long time between now and then. i only mentioned ellis because i think, like reaves, it makes no sense for him to extend, so he should make it to FA at least. anyway, several guys we didn't think would be available came free this summer, including your favorite player myles turner! it's good to be able to capitalize when those things happen. and again, if they don't, there are other avenues open with that space beyond just FA signings.

Yeah..I want two bigs..I'm not talking about replacing Ayton with the Unicorn or Hartenstien.

Randle didn't play with a Luka in NY. He'd slide in pretty good next to Ayton too.

Herro is 25, and I'm still trying to understand your point about Austin being clearly a superior player. Based on what exactly?

    https://stathead.com/basketball/ver...r&utm_campaign=2023_01_wdgt_player_comparison

I don't know what the Luka championship build looks like, he hasn't won one yet. I agree Luka is Championship caliber, but what works best around him? TBD still.

We are talking star chasing? No we are talking about guys making what you think Austin is worth. Then he's a star too in your opinion isn't he?

One thing I want you to know is last time Ayton had a guard like this Luka they went to the finals. And Luka beat Ayton cause he’s Luka.

people forget Luka legit beat Booker Shai and Edwards quote faces of the league.

now you give him Ayton. The season Ayton got to the finals with Phoenix was Bookers ability as a pure scorer and ball handler opened up everything for Ayton at the Rim. Everybody was worried about Booker made it easier for Paul.

now you add LeBron to that. LeBron is going to go crazy.

and Luka will destroy those teams because he has a full squad. It’s just simple basketball.

finally allows us to run our offense. Now let’s see us play those teams.

The bubble was not an asterisk.

that was one of the hottest teams the Nuggets with Jokic and we beat them. Straight up.

no fans no f***ing fans it was harder. The f***ing fans were on screen.

How do you play to that? There was no homecourt. That was the hardest championship. The psyche not being able to get that edge knowing you can just win the home game.

cause it’s the Lakers it’s an asterisk. f*** them and f*** Morey he can eat a d***.

We kicked the Rockets a**. And they were playing small ball dusting teams. We f***ed that s*** up.

Moreys a hater. He’s been overrated. This dumb a** paid Paul George a max with f***ed up knees. This bum lied to James Harden.

This bum this guy is a bum he should be fired. What the f*** has Daryl Morey did????

did we call the championship in 2012 a asterisk after the lockout?

did we call the championship in 1999 a asterisk after the lockout.

it’s all b*******. You punks didn’t win. It’s a slap in the face to those players who worked their a** off to win that championship.

you think it was easy leaving their families during a f***ing pandemic. The league finished the season games were played and then thier was a playoff. Games were intense.

first game after the layoff was Clippers and Lakers and that was very intense Kawaii and Paul George defending.

don’t take anything away from that because Daryl’s got his pannys in a bunch again.

Dame was hot round 1 people forgot we lost game 1 and had to comeback and win that series when Melo was playing good.

We rolled the f*** over Houston and Denver was probably our toughest western conference finals since Sacramento Kings 2002 so I don’t want to hear s***.

It was a home poker game for money. Guess they really wanted the Israeli guy.

That's what I thought but if you look at the indictment Arenas was looking for a percentage of the rake - seems more like the "home poker game" was used as a cover

Good post. And then I'd ask them to acknowledge that the Lakers actually got screwed and should have had home court advantage, which means they probably would have won quicker and by more. It was the only championship where the rightful 1st seed was basically deprived of points. (according to Vegas)

Lakers beat both the Bucks and CLips before Covid shutdown of the regular season - those were definite playoff intensity games which were on national TV if I'm remembering correctly. Just trash that the Clips of all teams constantly complaining of the Bubble has made this narrative keep on going. I don't think any other team has b****ed about the Bubble other then them

What a weird situation. Arenas made around $160 million in his career. Why get involved in something like this?
But then again Arenas does not strike me as a bright guy. He might be joining his buddy Crittendon in prison.

teams just sit in the paint and watch you miss contested threes. not to mention generate tons of looks by putting those guys in positions to have to leave the paint on defense.

even cleveland's two bigs are super mobile.

his inconsistent shooting and poor defensive awareness aren't a good match with luka or ayton.

    upload_2025-7-30_20-37-50.png

    upload_2025-7-30_20-38-12.png

i view them as largely a wash, but i'd choose reaves because i don't trust miami players outside of miami. also, the numbers i like do prefer reaves ^.

we've seen him get to both the conference finals and nba finals with some different formulas. but lob threat, rangy wing defender, and secondary playmaker seem like constants.

i mean if you're paying reaves 30 per, you have room to pay another guy at that level. whereas if you're paying a second star (who, at best, marginally outproduces reaves) 50 million, you don't have those options.

sure if some second superstar becomes available, then reaves is available. just not for anything short of that, and that's been the argument the whole time. you don't trade reaves for herb jones. you trade expirings and two firsts for herb jones, or--better yet--you draft herb jones with the 35th pick.

That's how big home poker games operate.
Toby Maguire. To a lesser extent, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and other actors and athletes. Rich and famous people who like to play poker for lots of money get involved, and sometimes they get involved in running it too.

he's just trying to troll anyways considering he admits that he would've celebrated a rockets championship like a normal one
