    disagree. your argument is:

asking you to substantiate this in any way isn't strawman-ing. here's my "evidence": we offered almost that for freaking andrew wiggins (whom miami is trying to dump), according to some folks. if you don't believe them, fine. i don't believe most of the gossip, either. hence, focus on who DID move and FOR WHAT.

absence of evidence is not evidence of absence is probably the best way to put it.

so your argument is against flexibility? because the clippers have done well whilst being inflexible? i mean, the bucks and suns are taking big swings without many assets, but i'm not sure i'd call any of them particularly wise. and the clips have to do this because kawhi is all they have and the clock is ticking loudly (same in milwaukee), if not already broken. we'd have been in that situation had we not traded for luka. although even then, my path this summer would have been a full detonation instead of investing assets five years from now into a lebron-led team.

i think trading for westbrook will make you risk averse. it took two years to recover from that, and our cheapness prevented us from even clippering our way out of it on the back end. maybe with the new ownership, we won't worry as much about that stuff.

still not sure that's what prevented moves this summer.

again, i think new ownership will help us take more risks. i don't think there were any to be had here.

This was reference to last year's junkyard dog group which was fun - Jemisen, Goodwin, Vando. Clearly not playoff caliber bunch of guys lol but fun.

Paul George trade was the worst trade in NBA history flat out

    6 number 1 picks????????

Shai Gillaus Alexander Jalen Williams Carson Wallace.

    still owe them picks.

it’s not like Shai sucked. He was having a promising rookie year. Arguably rookie of the year. They almost beat the warriors. Rebuilt their franchise after trading Blake Griffin their franchise player. Getting out of that contract before his knees fell out and shipping him to Detroit another star struck Owner Tom Gores.

Jerry West did work for the Clippers. This needs to be a 30 for 30 all the franchises that were impacted.

the difference is Joe Lacob let Jerry West work. And got out the way.

Steve Ballmer got in the way and it cost him his franchise because the Clippers will never win a championship.

forget the Kawaii stuff I wouldn’t have done it. If I owned the team. I would’ve told kawaii respectively seek employment with the Los Angeles Lakers. This is a trade we can’t make due to what it will do to the long term ramifications of this franchise. And your ability to compete for multiple championships. The data doesn’t support it.

this is the trade you make for Michael Jordan and that’s debatable. Paul George!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would’ve told Sam Presti to go F himself and that we would never do business with him and the OKC Thunder Oklahoma City Thunder ever again. And I would’ve told Clay Bennett deal off.

did you see what Donovan Mitchell went for???? This was a joke.

When Phoenix traded for Kevin Durant they didn’t trade Booker.

Shai was the clippers. That’s the franchise.

I’m a Laker fan and I still feel for the Clippers and Clippers fans. And angry from a basketball standpoint how stupid this was.

and yall have the nerve to complain about the Luka deal and say look what Dallas got??? …

Agree, although I don’t feel bad for the Clippers or their fans in any way. Clippers gotta Clip. Perfect example.

We gotta have more compassion for our tenants.

But this one is a trade that never I mean never made sense to me.

Steve Ballmer didn’t know s*** about basketball and was acting like he knew hoops. That’s why his guys should’ve got fired. Because they yesd him and gave him bad information.

Kawaii was the hottest player in the league I get it. Paul George came off of NBA first team.

But the picks and Shai was too much.

see and I’ll tell you from experience. A savy GM says you either get the picks or Shai. You can’t have both.

what do you want? You get Shai he can win you a MVP but we’re keeping these picks.

or take the picks and we’ll keep Shai and have our team Shai Kawaii see that rhymes and Paul George.

that’s equal for everybody here. But nobody’s getting f***ed. That is an equal trade.

or a trade I would’ve offered 3 first round picks for Paul George.

I liked Jemison. Another casualty of JJ giving up on young players too soon last season. Played respectable platooning with Jaxson then his PT fell off a cliff in favor of Alex Len.

That Len signing turned out to be bad. Net negative move - no positives and took minutes away from guys the Lakers may have been better off getting longer looks at (koloko, jemison)

If we can clear some salary, I'm hoping it's an option. We have a roster spot but not enough money to even offer a minimum.

That's why at least a 2 for 1 (wing or legit backup C) is still needed. If you can turn a couple of the expirings into a legit rotation player out there and get GP2 on the agent discount because he's a lot more valuable than a minimum contract... then you're cooking. We still need a 2- way wing, still need a quicker POA guard, and a backup C.

If you want to compete with the West this year, we need 2 of the 3.

A consolidation trade and FA signing (lot still out there, GP2 included) can address that.

Owners don’t put the basketball sense in it. Great perimeter defense is Shai Paul George and Kawaii that’s 1-2-3. Kawaii teaching Shai.

    see that’s baphonery.

guys getting paid millions of dollars to tell an owner torpedo his franchise.

you don’t trade nba players who haven’t reached their star potential. I saw Shai at Kentucky and I said he looks like Kobe tall strangy 6-7” frame.

He wasn’t as athletic but you could see the skill and midrange game in him. With the defense.

like when I saw Tre Johnson I’m like okay he’s gonna average 25 points a game in the league in 5 years.

    that’s scouting.

who am I trading that capital for in the league at that time? Stephen Curry? Kevin Durant??

Paul George? This is a guy who came off a broken leg. You do know he’s not going to get more athletic right????

    Clippers.

Hoping it's easier when a team isn't trying to use a deadline against us.

Sexy indifference (as Jason Bateman puts it) instead of desperation.

    Some Laker tidbits

We chased Beal. Not sure why
We discussed having KCP rerouted here right after the trade
Teams weren't willing to help us without pick compensation
What kind of picks? Hoping it was the silliness of a 1st. If it was a 2nd, consider me irritated.

    Brogdon and GP2 interest
At some point we called about DD. Not that one. The one that plays defense.
We haven't talked to the Suns in awhile

All Jemison was good for was setting screens and getting easily pissed off. He wasn’t going to see any burn anyway.
