I think I was more annoyed comparatively with Shaq’s bully and general personality / work ethic during his time here and elsewhere following …. than LeBron’s.

Me too, but Shaq getting us three eased my irritation considerably.

NO. By far best chances this year are with him here. Deal with it.

Well, as currently constructed, this team has zero chance to stop any of the top tier teams. We don’t have any good defenders in our starting unit.
Rob can make a trade or two to improve this. Until he does, I don’t have much faith in this team doing anything well but score.

I’m getting really tired of this game, but I’m also wondering who’s paying who to cause drama here, like why is Ramona reporting this of all people and not a Lakers writer

This is true also, Jorge Sedano said this on Irwin’s pod a few days ago, so why is she putting that out there, for who?

Winning cures all - if we’re the #3 seed again and rolling there won’t be any problems. Lebron isn’t stupid, every year left is important, he won’t just burn a year.

As for all the vultures circling, one more trade to consolidate and add some defence and I’m happy to roll against them all.

Never been a Lebron fan, but I’ll continue to hold my nose and root for him as long as he wears the P&G. If he’s indeed pouting, I really don’t understand why. The Lakers have acquiesced to most all of his demands like the Westbrook trade and drafting Bronny.

i'm ready to move on too, but i'm not buying that shelburne BS. lebron can be butthurt all he wants about the luka trade, but i don't think he's that dumb to not realize that the lakers don't end when he leaves the team

LeGroin needs to recognize that he's over 40 years old and his body seems to break down every season now that isn't dependable for a full season and playoff run. He shouldn't make demands like he is 25 years old with at least 10 more years to play for the franchise. Lakers should look out for what's best for the organization, 1 year max contract is a reasonable deal for someone that doesn't know when he will retire. If he plays great again until he gets injured, give him another 1 year deal or bolt to another team.

Not much in that story we didn’t already know, intuitively.

I’m sure slick is fuming at the “revelation” that we didn’t offer a PO.

Also, look at the Lopez phrasing—very careful wordplay that suggests we were after him but reveals he was a backup plan.

anyway, nothing new; will be a weird season.

Windy is/was a Lebron guy. I remember watching the Hoop Collective and he was always running Bron's narrative.

I think it's sad what Bron is trying to do with these stories and playing the victim role. Not sure what that accomplishes for him.

The Kareem comp made above was really spot on. He would have so much to win letting Luka lead and feed off of it.

I'm absolutely ready to move on from him. I'm a huge fan of his accomplishments and the talent and work he puts in, but never liked his personality and never think of him as a Laker legend

Hired mercenary, but not a true Laker in my eyes.
He did his role, but this is embarrassing.

Timpf and Buha talked about the ESPN piece yesterday and I found myself agreeing with Timpf. LeBron may just be angry about the contract and not being offered his usual 1+1. Had he gotten that, things would probably be fine. He's not stupid; he understands things are different now with Luka. From his perspective, he had a good year (6th in MVP voting, 2nd Team All-NBA, still one of the 20 best players in the league at the absolute worst) and any other player in the league with that profile would get a 1+1 at the max if he asked for it. From the team's perspective, LeBron being this good now into his 40s is unprecedented so its hard to just assume he'll keep defying the age curve. Plus you have a new 26 year old franchise cornerstone that changes everything about your teambuilding.

That team also shares some blame. Why not just invite him to the stupid photo op dinner with Rob, JJ and Luka. Why not give him the same heads up about the sale to Walter. I don't see any downside in doing so.

It’s the offseason. I feel like this is much ado about nothing. LeBron’s wife wants him to retire in a year or two max. I think he does so as a Laker but who knows? Also I hardly put any stock in a Shelbourne report.

    He's busy.

Still don't get why he f***s with Dray considering he's almost seriously injured Bron at least a dozen times.

This. Agreed 100%. Just another BSPN hit piece to smear the Lakers.

He was 2nd team All NBA at 41. It’s not unreasonable to think your team of seven years will pursue you sign for more years.

instead, they didn’t even offer an extension. They have made him an expiring contract with zero control for the first time in his career that is not his doing. For one of the most supreme narcissists of all time, he must be beside himself.

    #betrayed #butthurt #pettyprincess

the Lakers are ready to move on to the new era of Luka and not look back. I’m sure the all time stat padder is struggling to deal with being on a “show me you’re worth it contract”

has to be a blow to his sensitive ego

all that being said, all this was avoidable if the Lakers handled it better
