He will be in a position he’s supposed to play limited minutes (hopefully without major injuries knock on wood) to Ayton as a backup center.

nobody wants to hear it, but he overperformed his vet min last year. people were interested in precious achiuwa, but i'm not sure their impact is much different, and hayes has some familiarity here. he wasn't supposed to be a starter.

Very good signing, now JJ needs to get out of his Ham like obsession with small ball

Hayes as a backup is just fine. I thought he had good chemistry with Luka.

Jaxson is a good minimum player. He was actually pretty effective for spurts. His problem as a starter, is that he has zero offensive game, besides being a lob threat.

Welcome back. Now get your buttocks in the weight room and gym to work on your strength and developing a 10-12 foot jumper.

He played over his head for awhile and gave us hope post AD, and then crashed back to earth. Solid backup thats a known quantity. I’m very glad to have him back on a minimum contract. #winning

    Stop lying.

I'd figured he'd be back after Ayton only took $8 million. LOL.

? … so Jake could take 6. But you were right and I was not, kind of thinking we were doing, and may be still, a consolidation trade of some sort for a better 2nd Big. Now that will probably be for another big NEED whenever it happens. Summer or deadline. Still having Koloko and Jemison anyway. Those guys if they get better at all over last season isn’t “nothing” for eating reg season minutes too if needed to cover injuries or Trey to knock someone on their ***!! :D

I like Jax off the bench. As sirron said, he’s a known quantity, and he can be effective, just not in a starting role.

tbh, i thought he showed he can start for a few games in a pinch, too. we had a good stretch with him starting.

i also forgot he was a duffy client, so be on the lookout for those going forward, as i think they're the new klutch in town.
