i think laravia took his spot. just don't see knecht cracking the rotation unless we clear some other folks out.

still like his potential, but we're not the right situation.

Laravia plays team defense. Knecht is still developing his NBA game.

I think picking up Ayton and Laravia should put the "Lakers are desperate" narrative to bed. Rob has all the trade assets available and I think he's done a great job with the vet mins in the past. So I think we're actually in a strong position to pick up 2-3 more rotation players to add to a core that got the 3 seed last year. Svtzr's post about salary combinations says it all, we've got options. I also agree Goodwin could contribute this year (injuries) and let's see how much Bronny has worked on his game. Excited for summer league

    Need some guards.
honestly just don't know a lot about Melton but he seems like a player type the Lakers desperately needs (if he can stay healthy?)

i really don't want to watch Gabe next year but the Lakers need a dude like him still. I just don't want him to be Mr. Cardio again sigh.

lol yeah, in some of my fake trade scenarios, i start to realize if gabe played for someone else, i might be trying to trade for him.

With our two newest forward acquisitions it slots DK down to shooting guard where he should feast on smaller defenders. I too like his skillset a lot and hope he gets a shot at building some trust with JJ in LA.

    lol no way.

wiggins is better than rui right now, but rui's younger, and they're heading in opposite directions. if we moved rui, no pick nor knecht, imo. maybe a swap, as we're getting the better current player.

if it's just the expirings, i'd probably add a pick to get it done, yes, but it sounds like that's what they rejected. if they want a pick AND knecht, they gotta pony up something else, like maybe the prodigal son jaime.

Not that hard, really. Just takes a couple of days of patience. How do you know that Rob didn't have an agreement, under the table, with Ayton and his rep??? You do know that he likely talked with them!??? This idea that some of you just think that Pelinka is a complete idiot newb who is not doing anything right is kind of an affront to Kobe. If Kobe thought this guy was great, I trust his opinion, even if he is no longer with us. Frankly, he has brought us a ton of really good players since he got here. And this is an era that was designed specifically to keep us down, with owners of other teams conspiring to hurt us. Say it ain't the truth!!! I think Rob has done a great job considering the obstacles and the owners major concern being $$$$. Not sure how we are going to do better in this day and age.

Would not do all of that for Wiggins.

no, they declined wagner's option! i thought for sure they'd pick that up because of his brother, but they didn't. i'm sure they'll re-sign mo at a lower value, and now they won't have substantial cash in three separate centers. mo will (properly) slot in as third/situational center there.

I'd pass on Wiggins if the offer is Rui+Knecht+1st.

The only way it makes sense is if Gabe, Vando, and a 1st are included.

    Keep Rui+Knecht.

Wiggins, Rui, Knecht, LeBron, Ayton, Reaves, Luka. That's a damn good team.

Vando and Gabe don't have a purpose on this team. And IDK if the Heat are dumb or what but they are not title contenders

No to Rui and a 1st rounder: you get cap relief and frankly a pretty good prospect in Knecht.
Wiggins is 29, you never what version of Wiggins you're getting.

Yes I think he's a good target for the Lakers but this ain't some dude with great trade value either. He's another guy like Ayton who really fits well with a few teams like the Lakers but is just waste of cash for a team like Miami

Right. Then add Dame and a vet BIG or other 3&D wing that gets bought out next spring and …..

    Beat Denver and OKC?

I’d do Rui and Knecht for Wiggins. No first. Wiggins would be a great fit here at 3. Good defender and can still score. He’s more savvy than Rui and only 29. Knecht just lost his spot to LaVaria. Solves some balance issues with the roster and a consolidation trade. We can draw the line in the sand there. We don’t need to do the trade but I think it upgrades us.

Knecht can be their Duncan Robinson replacement and Rui has upside. Works for both teams. Take the first out of it. If not kick rocks.

I would love to add Wiggins at the SF spot as a primary wing defender. Good championship experience as a bonus. I would do Knecht + salary and the 1st.

But I would not give up Rui for him. Reasons: Rui is our best spot up 3pt shooter. He is our future starting 4 once LeBron is gone.

Here were Rui's numbers in the Twolves series: 14.8 ppg with 48.4% from three!

I just spent a few minutes with the Trade Machine and I could not find a combo that works for Wiggins. Anyone have a trade that works unnder the rules?
