i worry about both lebron and horford being counted on for heavy regular season minutes. but i agree that horford still looks good.

here's an idea i've already floated and know is hated by all but...if al horford is a center...isn't lebron a center?

i realize lebron doesn't see it that way, but if guys like draymond and horford--who are basically the same size or smaller than lebron--play most of their minutes at center on winning teams...why couldn't lebron? you know, the guy the olympic team used to guard jokic in isolation? just sayin'.

I'm in on Horford for the minimum, anything more...pass. That's just because of age and we'll still have to have a solid center added for insurance and to keep him fresh for the playoffs.

If we want to give him the help he's asked for every chance he gets, I'm sure he'd be ok with that. BUT here he has to be the best or second best high usage player on each side of the ball. C Bags had Pritchard, Porzingis, Holiday, White, Brown and Tatum over Horford offensively. In GS, Green is 10th in FGAs and a bench player now.

Yeah losing DFS for nothing would be another sign of terrible asset management. Rob can’t have 2 duds of an offseason in a row just inexcusable if DFS walks.

I will be pretty surprised if DFS walks. I’d have to think we have someone else ready to go.

i mean, you're kinda reaching for pritchard, zinger, holiday, and white here. my point is lebron doesn't HAVE to be an offensive hub here. we have luka and reaves, who are as capable creators on offense as tatum/brown and curry/butler, imo (remember reaves and luka are both very good passers).

it's playing to my implied point that lebron wants to do what he wants to do, not "whatever it takes to win".

Lebron has a daughter in grade school there’s no way he uproots his family back to Cleveland. Watched starting 5 he looks way too comfortable out here.

They have no centers gotta bring Kornet back traded Porzingis they need Horford .

he can’t be a viable starter at this point of his career for the Lakers. Way too old.

Luka is top 5, but Austin isn't on the same level, as Brown or Butler. No sir.

Im really not tripping over DFS walking TBH, That opens up some other options, and if we get another big and a POA, what do we need Dorian for? We'd still have Vando.

Need to see what we do with that money. It's a very thin free agency, so it can be very easy to mismanage or miss out. There's basically no starting level defensive wing or POA guy out there to slot in from the FA class. NAW's price is getting STEEP. It's down to Bruce Brown and...Bruce Brown. The rest you were going to have to trade for anyway. Vando has warts too -- injury history and concerns, can get played of the court in the playoffs, plays best in limited minutes whereas DFS can play both sides of the ball and can play upwards of 30 minutes a game.

Bigs, sure...options certainly open up a bit. You can get in the mix for Sharpe (now my #1 big man target). You can go after Precious Achiuwa, who I like. It's not just between Lopez and Capela now. But it can't ONLY be a big, you have to maximize that money and get BOTH.

DFS was and is perfect for this team. Really useful in the playoffs as well where Vando is not. He can play in any series vs anyone. Vando is not that. I think it’s a pretty big deal if you get nothing for him. I mean we outbid Memphis for this guy.

don't need to, he's a FA (also, they can't S&T because a buyout removes bird rights, i believe). what i don't know is how the buyout rules work here...

just googled, and i think we can sign him--the aprons stop buyouts during the season only for players making above a certain salary. but i don't think it applies in the offseason.

I feel like Lebron would chose Cleveland for obvious reasons.
