Utah sent 3 2nd rounders to move up 3 spots. Doesn't appear we have enough future draft assets to move into the 1st.

Portland currently has 4 centers after drafting Yang Hansen in the 1st round.

I’m just gonna put this out there, for the pure fact that the salaries match perfectly for a trade:

Lakers get Jerami Grant, Robert Williams
Portland gets Rui, Vincent, Kleber, Milton

Portland does it to salary dump Grant, and the price for taking on Grant is we get Williams. It would come with its risks that Grant hasn’t been healthy the past 2 seasons and is under contract for over $30m/season for another 3 years.

Lakers keep Knect in this case and in all likelihoods we sign Chris Paul for the vet minimum to replace Vincent

Best I can do is Kleber, Shake, and #55 for Williams. Hasn't played over 35 games the past 3 seasons - 61 total in that span. Grant's contract is bad, very bad.

They have to give us an unprotected first to take on Grant's contract and a couple seconds to take on Robert "NEVER Healthy" Williams.
So if it's Grant, Williams, 1 unprotected first, and two second round picks (which are essentially late 1sts because they're trash) then yeah...sign me up.

BUT they don't trade with us, they overvalue their players to more than any other team in the NBA, Grant has fallen off a cliff, Williams is only good on NBA Live where you can turn injuries off.

I'm not giving up all our expirings to help them unless they're significantly compensating us.

I watched a recent Chinese NT game against Japan, he is kind of awkward and will get destroyed on defense as he was getting run out of the game by little Japanese guys

Well I posted the first video of him in the NBA draft thread here so I'm a bit biased, but clearly Portland thinks he's going to become Jokic/Sengun! Sounded like they followed him for two years and desperately wanted him.

I do feel it's going to be hard to gauge how good he'll become in that Portland wasteland. He never may amount to much given they'll be using Clingan most of the time.

Miami ain’t trading Ware. They didn’t trade him for Durant.

I’m not trading Wiggins for Hachimura. I like Hacihumura better.

We shoulda got Williams earlier. Centers being picked or traded.

Well it’s looking like Ayton expiring 4 Centers on the roster and we have him for 1 season.

Robert Williams isn’t a viable option. He never plays this is since Boston.

I guess Paul Reed And Clint Capela.

Walker Kessler seems to be the flavor of the week. Don’t seems like utah wants to trade him. Unless it’s crazy for Knect 2031 1st round pick and Hachiumura.

so we’ll see. Lakers might want to keep depth. Well go sign Jaxson Hayes while you’re at it. And maybe Kevin Looney.

I do think the Lakers should make a play for Zach Collins Chicago bulls center. Would be perfect for Lakers. Rolling Center rebounds. Skilled. He can be a great Center getting 35 minutes a night.

wasn't yang projected as a 2nd round pick? either the blazers know something no one else does, or they went way off the board to draft him so they can bring in that chinese $$$$

He's not. Let's get rid of all our assets and still have no starting caliber C. Because, why the hell not... after all, it worked GREAT for us since that last Championship...

Not that I want to trade for Wiggins, but I I’m not sure I agree he’s not an upgrade over Rui, at least for our needs at this time. Rui and LeBron play the same position, they both can’t guard threes, Wiggins can do that. It would at the very least bring some roster balance. He also has Finals experience and was #2 to Curry on that team that won a title, so he’s somewhat proven there where Rui isn’t. Again, not saying I want him, but I get the Lakers interest, especially if he can be had for no firsts.

To your second point, I’m not sure at this point there is a starting center to be had for what we have to offer. Mark Williams just went for 2 first rounders even after what we said about his medicals. The price on bigs seems to kind of crazy right now, the league has decided they’re really valuable again, and then probably add on the Lakers tax for dealing with some franchises. It’s going to be tough, hell I’ll he surprised if Capela and/or Lopez are even available to us at the TPMLE as in demand as bigs are. This is the result of completely ignoring the position for years, now we have to dig out of this and get creative, which I don’t have a lot of faith in this FO to do. But yeah, it’s possible the center market is so bad the FO is just looking at other needs/talent in the meantime.
