The thing that irks me on this topic, is that the Lakers power structure, was considered to be vague and confusing, leaguewide, before Magic became the team President. It continued to be so with Pelinka in charge. The difference is that Rob gets cover for his decisions, due to that fact, but Magic Johnson doesn't. Rob was Magic's GM for his entire 18 months tenure too. Yet everything that happened under Earvin, was absolutely all his doing, but everything with Rob comes with some kind of asterisk.

That take was, and continues to be, some BS.

 

LOL No. Magic the player was awesome. I won’t forget his summer of literal sabotage to the team and other things. You know how it goes around here with opposing opinions like you’re fond of. Deal with it.

magic should be banished from anything related to roster construction just based off the zubac trade alone

We won a Championship immediately after trading Zubac too. Rob wasn't going to keep him around either, he doesn't believe in paying two bigs. For all we know, Pelinka might have been the one, pushing the Zubac trade in the first place. Ivica had a breakout season last campaign, kudos to him. He still gets played off the floor, by being targeted by guards in the P&R action tho.

Luka will be licking his chops for years, seeing Zubac on the court in crunch time, for the Clippers. Easy money.

Like I don’t know what they’re doing and then went on Stephen A and dropped a Nuke on the Lakers on ESPN saying you can’t trust Rob he’s a snake. Just looked bad for our basketball team.

Zubacs an 18-10 Center Mike Muscala is playing Center at the YMCA dropping 40 lol it wasn’t a good trade.

 

So what? Caruso is making a difference in the NBA Finals, Talen Tucker is on his way out of the league. Which decision was worse?

I remain puzzled by this Zubac fascination. We were never going to keep Ivica anyway.

 

Mark Waters is aggressive. He gave Mattingly leg room. And Ned Coletti. When it wasn’t working and Mattingly flamed out in the playoffs that was it. In comes Robert’s in comes Andrew Friedman. The guy everybody in baseball wanted. The top guy anyalytics. He paid. He paid for the best. The Dodgers have the best opps in baseball. Andrew Friedman Brandin Gomes and now Farhan Zeidi back. Two World Series later. Championships.



with the Lakers I see Reddick getting a couple of years and Rob. But If it doesn’t work. He won’t hesitate to hire the top Basketball opps. Rob’s gotta produce.

everybody said what if Friedman had the resources of Waters with his scouting? And we hired him.


Now in the NBA Clay Bennett is a cheap F you don’t think Presti didn’t want to keep Harden? Clay didn’t want to pay.


Now imagine Presti with his scouting department resources and all the money he wants. Mark won’t hesitate to hire the best.
