Don’t follow other teams …. he looks real nice protecting the rim nice hops. Assume he is vertical threat and is averaging like 10 rebounds. How does he do defending on the perimeter and overall comparing to Claxton? Does he have projected upside to get in that conversation, at only 22 years? Who else at the 5 does Detroit have that they would give him up?

He's a young player, a freak athlete who can jump high and jump often, which allows him to rebound very well, and protect the rim. Good shot blocker. Does not have a sophisticated post game, or an outside shot, but is a double-double machine regardless. We could use a player like that. This video shows exactly how he plays:

I mean, Luka would like him. But he's not a perimeter defender AFAIK.

I’m just not seeing why Detroit makes that trade. Went from one of the worst for years, to the 6 seed. It’s not like they have a sure fire starting center to fill that gap.

Would I want the Lakers to make that trade? YES. Just don’t understand the reasoning for the Pistons.

Duren is bigger, has around 30 pounds on Claxton. Offers more closer to the rim. Favors is a comp he got a lot coming out of college. That's a pretty good one, but Favors at his peak was 16/8/2. Duren's offense isn't quite there but he's close and is still developing so he'll exceed that comp ceiling.

Claxton is a lot switchier and better on the perimeter. He's better defensively and a slightly better fit. He's 4 years older, so he's also more established. BUT he's more expensive. Duren as a hypothetical has the same benefit as Kessler where you're getting him on a cheap contract and just have to give up the extra stuff to get him. You're still preserving your expirings for additional moves.

There's a good chance neither are available, but i'm calling both because that's the type of move we should be making to address the position. Then if that's a no, then we move on to Capela and the other fall back options.

After next season they're going to have to pick between Stewart and Duren.

Maybe they can be talked into DK being Beasley's replacement with him heading into FA.

Edit: just pulled the article. Here's their why for Detroit
Here's the why/ why not for each team

Every other game with this guy, good lord, at some point can you just not control yourself? Now he’s screaming in refs faces after the fact trying to get another one

It's remarkable what he's able to get away with EVERY game. Should have been ejected twice in a 30 second span. This is just a Tuesday for Dray.

I want the league to address why he gets to operate under a completely separate set of rules compared to the rest of the league. There's much more popular players you should be protecting if we're going to play favorites. No one is tuning into a NBA game to watch him.

My thoughts exactly. It's like Draymond is saying, "I dare you to kick me out of a game! Then everyone will say the league hates the Warriors and it was a fix."
But it's not a fix. And to prove it, NBA/Silver/refs: kick his azz OUT!

What other player, name just ONE, who can get away with what he does and not get kicked out also?

    I'll wait.

It's because the league wants Steph to be successful since he prints money due to the massive fan base. Dray helps him get there.

This is a major reason why I don’t like Curry- his team has an unfair advantage with Donkey Green’s ability to play extremely dirty and get away with it.

It is odd that no other player in the NBA seems to "inadvertently" flail their arms and legs so wildly that they connect with the heads and genitals at a higher rate than Ty Cobb's batting average. What a tool

Bron prints more money and generates higher ratings and gets a negative whistle though. I don't get it.
