Did they say it happened in the series? I got the (wrong?) (I guess) impression it was a longer period he was trying to just stay off of it between games. And what’s with the the “excuse” blast at AR? He never brought it up and took the blame for not performing good enough. Edit … oops just read above your post Game 3.
I never said Reaves used it as an excuse. I’m saying I keep reading that’s now the reason he had a bad series. If it didn’t happen till game 3, I’m questioning why he was bad in the first 2 games if it wasn’t because of injuries.
He wasn’t bad because of the toe, he was bad because he was bad. As stated he didn’t hurt it until game 3, and he was awful in games 1 and 2. I’m sure it didn’t help, but a lot of players are dealing with injuries, or just plain sore and hurting somewhere by the playoffs unless they missed a lot of regular season time. We aren’t going to trade him, but he’s probably the player we could use to get a good enough center, and I’d probably do that if it were the right players after this playoff performance. I like Reaves a lot, but I liked Eddie Jones a lot too, and I was fine with him being gone to get to a title.
@Cookie Well it’s also been covered and acknowledged MN is a real b**** of a matchup for him with their length, athleticism and physicality plus trying to contain Ant and Randle frequently assigned or switched on to him. Plus others like myself I admit may have also wrongly thought it happened prior to the series.
The excuses are piling up , Lebron led team culture . You badly got outplayed .. Take the L and congrats the Wolves
Hopefully the last series humbled him to stfu and go back into the lab. Need to gain at least 20lbs of muscles. His career can reach a higher level if he is stronger.
now we got some fat 40 year old body gringo who is falling apart physically while still dropping triple doubles while sipping beer. bizarro world haha
I like this approach. AR admitted he played terrible and didn't make excuses. When you can freely admit that it makes you want to work hard to do something about it and will make our championship next season even sweeter.
Austin's career playoffs numbers are pretty similar. His season average was higher, but he's the 3rd option. Maybe he should be playing under 30 mins a game? He's more efficient at those minutes IMO. Everyone isn't cut out, for playing heavy minutes in the playoffs. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/reaveau01.html
He needs to get stronger. He can shoot now, but when they put someone taller/bigger on him he is not as effective.
