Zion healthy is a beast tho. He's a 3/4 with extreme athleticism. Talking him specifically, we wouldn't be giving up everyone not listed above. He makes a shade under 40M...Gabe/Kleber/Rui puts you into that salary range. But I'd imagine that Austin would have to a part of that deal, plus whatever picks we have. So more like Austin/Rui/Dalton and the picks.
Gabe/Kleber can be flipped for a 5, or wing..Whatever version of our MLE is there. We could work that out IMO.

What’s the incentive for NO to give up FAT Wonderboy with Gabe and Maxi part of the deal after our history with them? …. and This from @svtzr

    “Luka
    Reaves
    DFS
    Lebron
    Zion

And we won't have any size at the 5 or anyone that can stop dribble penetration anyway. So we're right back in the same problem.”

^^^ actually worse since you’ve tossed in Reaves who would of course have to go too. Man that looks like a terrible construction IMO … like you’re complaining about now with paying Vet Mins for Bigs and G-League Bigs and no POA talent on D.

There's an all-in move that can net you Holiday (Boston), Claxton (Nets), and Ellis (Kings). Nets cap space can fix Boston's books.

If he was 32 and not 35 (June), I'd do it. he'd be the perfect defensive guard next to Luka...just too damn old for $30m+ a year.

I think they'd ask for Reaves. I posted it above. I don't know if the Pelicans owner is all that anti anything Lakers or not. That's the FO staff, I believe they fired them already. I Imagine Jeanie could call her and work something out. TBH..I think some of these owners don't really care about that stuff. If they want somebody gone, it's more about what they recived in return.

I’ve wanted Dante on our team after half way through his rookie year. Kid is just solid on both ends.

wonder if rob would consider moving AR for the right big man. it'd suck to see him go, but he's a liability on defense and not athletic enough, plus he's disappeared more than he's stepped it up in the playoffs

Why would Minnesota trade Dante to us? For who? He's a good bargain at 11M.

Has he? I mean he had a rough series, but he avg a rather consistent 17pt 4 assists 4.5 rebs for his career in the playoffs. Not bad for a 3rd option at his salary. He avg 39 min a game in this series, perhaps that's too much of a workload?

I would trade AR, Hachi and Maxi
    For: Sabonis.
Luka and Sabonis together would be awesome, but we would need more defenders.

    Can Dwight Powell still bounce?
He and Dalton both make nearly $4 million per.
We know the line is already open between Rob and Nico.

Aside from his rebounding, the value of Adams is perfectly and NSFW'ly articulated by Butler in this interview

If we don’t sign him, I’m going to be pissed, unless of course, he doesn’t want to come and play for the Premier Franchise of the NBA.

I’d explore Jackson in Memphis starting with AR as the center piece

I posted this elsewhere, but this is most likely our roster before any moves:

    Luka (46m) / Gabe (11.5m) / Bronny (1.95m) / Shake (3m)
    Reaves (13.9m) / Goodwin (2.35m)
    Lebron (52.6m PO) / DFS (15.4m PO) / Knecht (4m)
    Rui (18.3m) / Vando (11.6m)
    - / Kleber (11m) / Jemison (2.2m)

    + One 2nd round rookie (1.5m)

That's around 195.3m - First apron is 195.9m and Second Apron is 207.8m. To get the full MLE opened up, we need to be 14.1m below 195.9m. So as a good rule of thumb, the roster needs to be just under 182m before you add the MLE.

We would need to cut 13.5 m off the current roster to make that work. That's achievable IMO. Ways to do that:
    • Restructure DFS' deal for 3 years @ 42m starting at 11.5m per, you've saved 3.9m.
    • Restructure Lebron's deal for 3 years @ 150m starting at 44m per, you've saved 8.6m.
    • Package some combination of Rui, Gabe, Kleber, Vando, Knecht & Shake saving a little money in each deal.

Because they're going to be in cap hell next season. Look at their roster:

    Gobert (35m)
    Edwards (45.5m)
Randle (30.9m PO) - most likely opts out and signs the max at 45m
    McDaniels (24.8m)
Reid (15m PO) - most likely opts out and signs 30m+
    DDV (12m)
    Conley (10.7m)
    Dillingham (6.6m)
NAW (FA) - most likely wants 14m MLE type money
Cap Holds (10m) - to get to 14 players

If they paid everyone, thats 220 million. So if they're going to retain Randle and Reid, they've either got to let NAW walk or trade some of their other pieces like McDaniels (not likely), DDV (more likely), Conley (probably not possible), Dillingham (meh).

Maybe they get Randle and Reid to sign for 10m and 5m less than market value. Even then they're still in trouble cap wise.

We may not be able to get DDV, but I think we could get NAW pretty easily with the MLE.
