Know what is even MORE crazy? if he coaches another two years on teams with 40 wins, he'll be the 4th winningest coach of all time. Some guys like him are just solid over long periods of time, but not considered championship coaches even if he did get one.

Nelson, Wilkens, Sloan, Karl, Adelman, Fitch--- not really thought of as champions. But solid NBA coaches with longevity. But he's already passed Phil Jackson in wins and possibly Riley next year. Pretty wild. He's young enough he can be the all time winningest coach in as little as 6 years. Pretty crazy. He's 63. Popovich is 76. As bad ad Doc has done winning series with quality teams, overall, he's had a pretty amazing coaching career.

And the Clippers starting 5 was undefeated when healthy I think. lol. Also, nobody seems to like the guy, and he was voted by players as the most overrated coach I think. Ouch. Someone will hire him again. I predict he'll hold the all time coaching record in wins before he's done.

Funny thing that most overrated player Tyrese Haliburton which is b*******,eliminated Doc
I get that he's not most sexy name like Kawhi or Jokic and plays in small market, but why he's most overrated I don't get it

i mentioned him a while back, too. boston's deep into the tax (227m committed without horford or kornet re-signed--20m over the 2nd apron). we'd have to get to full mle to get in the bidding, though. that requires dropping some salary or having lebron (and maybe DFS) take a haircut.

i think a more realistic path is probably seeing if we can get portis to agree to an opt-in and trade for kleber and a second rounder with the promise of an extension. he could pull a cp3 and tell the bucks he'll opt out and leave or they can pick up a 2nd rounder for an expiring.

i don't love that portis really isn't a rim protector, though, as that's a big part of why we're losing the current series. almost makes me think it would be worth considering a one-year deal for ol' pal brolo or something. his defense has dropped off and he's old (and not a lob threat), but he's still playable and large.

keep going back to the deal that makes the most sense being the mark williams deal we already made...

i'm also wondering if just doing a short-term deal using whichever exception is available to us for capela is the best move. keep hayes as the backup/regular season minutes eater. use the expirings (and possibly knecht) to add perimeter athleticism. what would sacramento want for keon ellis? would knecht be enticing for them as a future wing scorer to replace derozan? i think ellis is the exact prototype i'm looking for--super athletic, can defend 1s, 2s, and small 3s, pretty solid catch and shoot. i'd be willing to pay a fair amount here. like maybe add that first we did for williams.

I like this plan. Always liked Steven Adams and I'm all for getting experienced guys that can actually be a part of a playoff rotation (hopefully not washed)

No but he's a perfect backup and pitch change to a Claxton (type) with elite rebounding, screening and a physicality playoff teams needed given the size in the West.

I love Hali, if we didn’t get Luka, he’s the guy I would like to go after, the overrated thing is probably jealousy from his peers, who’s so good he also gets the bulk of the groupies lol

Very interested to see how accommodating the Bucks are going to be if Giannis wants to go somewhere specific. Giannis can't use the threat of leaving in free agency as leverage, he has too much time left on his deal. If the Bucks are just going to take the biggest offer, its probably Houston/San Antonio/OKC, all of which would suck because the West is too crowded as it is. Considering they don't have their own picks, I could see the Bucks wanting proven talent over other teams' draft picks. In that case, something like KAT/Bridges for Giannis could become viable. I personally want to see Detroit get him, he stays in the East and there's another viable challenger to the C Bags. But I doubt Milwaukee will want too see him in their own division.

yeah, sucks that he's coming west, but tbh, i'm not sure how many years he's got left at this level of production. he's 30, and though he's still producing at near mvp levels, his game is entirely predicated on athleticism. like shaq, when the descent begins, it will be a swift ride to the bottom.

I think he's improved some skill-wise, I don't see as much of the ramming into set defenders anymore. But that's already been offset by some decline in athleticism, which isn't shocking at 30. He's much less threatening on defense than he used to be. I always thought he was a bit overrated as a defender, but Haliburton was hunting and torching him yesterday.

oh, he's still a guy that if you have him and 4 g leaguers you still expect you might win a round in the playoffs, lol. i'm just saying him coming west doesn't spell doom for the next decade or something.

i do think he could really stretch SA's window with wemby, though. as in: they could start winning rings as soon as next year if they add him to fox and wemby. especially if they were to keep vassell in the deal...

Yeah for sure. Even if he did go to Houston, I'm not positive they'd instantly become an inner circle contender. Giannis to SA, though, would really feel like Robinson/Duncan 2.0. Let's hope for our sake that doesn't happen.

Butler and Curry scored combined 0 points in first quarter.
Rockets starting five vs GSW 40-8
Game 6 can't come soon enough
Houston is up by 30 in second quarter

i just don't love his fit in houston. unless sengun is the primary outgoing piece. teams would just pack the paint against them if that's their 4/5.

if sengun goes out for giannis, houston still would probably need to find a) a floor spacing center and b) a better off-ball player than green for the perimeter costar.
