Wow!!! That’s like goose bump stuff hearing those kinds of comments from Phil Handy who knows the game like he does and having worked with the players in his career he has.

 

Remember when some wanted to trade him for Dejounte Murray ?

Cade was a number 1 pick? Yeah color me surprised on that too if that’s the case. Duh he shoulda been better quicker picked there or high in the draft.

 

JJ was asked about it. And he pretty much said that the meaning of the award has changed to where it is not for guys like AR, rather for high picks getting their s*** together.

 

And to think Ham was benching this guy and Rui last season in favor of Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince smh.

 

Pimple and Westbrick cost Bron another title, IMO.

LOS ANGELES -- After the Lakers closed out their last home game of the regular season by routing the Rockets 140-109 on Friday night to clinch the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, Austin Reaves joked that the team's campaign, at times, felt like five seasons in one.

All the ups and downs and twists and turns Los Angeles endured provided Reaves with clarity as he looked ahead to the postseason.

"I feel like we could win a championship, to be honest with you," Reaves said.

Luka Doncic, who scored 39 points on 13-of-19 shooting through three quarters Friday, agreed with Reaves.

"That's our only goal," Doncic said. "I think we have the team to do it."

…. loved that! It’s clearly obvious the 2 mega stars LBJ and Luka LOVE him. Handy’s comments that as a rookie in early camp with the players we had on the team Reaves (at that point in time) was the BEST player on the floor) Game knows game. Lots of us here figured it out a long time ago. @showtime24 … yes everyone can be a fan of the team and have different opinions and you stating your fevered quest to trade him for 40 other guys was just you trying to improve the team with our best tradeable asset …. AR …. just never seemed to have a clue how freaking good in his own right he was. Not to mention a HUGE fan favorite and joy to watch play the game who literally does have multiple rarest of qualities including superb mastery of so many skills in the game, IT and a game and mentality modeled after arguably the greatest Laker ever …. Kobe Bryant. Ridiculously being paid 13M a year on top of that. And he’s not done getting better. He’s proved that every season.

We are so fortunate for him to grow and blossom under the pressure of being on the Lakers

Looks like LbJ has been in his corner since day 1

LOL on the last one. Just by typical message board odds there’s a lot of good posters on LG because they have a lot of members. But holy crap do they have an equally lot of just the opposite that drive me nuts with their negativity whenever I check it out because nothing’s going on here and I start itching and get the withdrawal shakes.

Holy crap!! Yes!! In contrast to HBK Hillbilly Kobe .... SAR? Suburban Austin Reaves? MAR? Metro Austin Reaves

 

nice, but that guy's gotta hit some cutters, man.

 

The problem was D'Lo. He did nothing better than Reaves except maybe get hot shooting the ball sometimes.

Defense was atrocious, took the ball away from Reaves, and was unplayable in the playoffs.

D'Lo might be a better individual player than DFS but DFS changed how this team played. Even before getting Luka, the Lakers were starting to play really well.

I don't think Reaves and AD's game fit well together, either. Outside of being below the rim, AD wasn't a big offensive threat. Lobs, putbacks, and fouls but that's pretty much the bulk of his scoring. With Luka, everyone is getting wide open shots.
