I think actually @LaVarBallsDad is onto something with the psychology of his professed hatred of the King. It’s akin to the “reverse jinx”.

i know we're joking around mostly, but seriously: getting lebron would have been dr. buss's sole goal as soon as kobe was declining or retired.

doncic would be next, imo. this part of why i don't want to give up any distant future assets of value. i want to be able to bid if and when doncic becomes available.
