klutch, bron/ad....just lost all respect for these chumps....they wanted Westbrick and now cant own up to their stupidity and throwing rob under the bus again!

 

well, further: where on earth can russ go this summer. the knicks denied us (i like that we tried there), and i'm not sure where else to turn. in some ways, ripping off the bandaid is playing out the string.

 

There's always options.

The Lakers are in this mess primarily because they listened to Bron/AD/Klutch to get Westbrook.

Pelinka is being blamed as the fall guy because it didn't work (as we mostly thought) and now those 3 expect Pelinka to listen to them in a Wall/Westbrook trade? Delusional.

I would've been on board with the Wall/Westbrook swap if the Lakers were trending upwards in the standings, healthy AD/Bron at least playing top 10 level, Westbrook continues being ineffective + kids stepping up. That has not been the case. Wall/Westbrook swap while sacrificing youth + picks doesn't move the needle even if Lebron feels it does.

 

but hypothetically, like what? russ makes 47 million. how much of that could we get out from under? how bad are the players we take in in the process?

remember: in one year, he's gone. we don't want to add more years of dead salary than we need to.

the mavs essentially just broke porzingis into two pieces without gaining anything in terms of years off his contract. they had to take two guys having the worst years of their respective careers to do it. what does russ's 47 million bring?

wall's as bad or worse than russ at this point and is a huge injury risk. huge. both an achilles and an acl, like klay thompson.

i don't trust wood, either, but i view wood for THT as two teams hoping a change of scenery helps a player fulfill his potential. the issue with wood is that his stats look good when his team doesn't. and that is definitely a worry. one could even argue that wood IS playing up to his potential, which may be a problem.

 

Wood would be quite handy right now with AD being out.

It may require taking back some long term salary that eats into 24?

I do think there will be more options. Maybe not much more? But we have to get rid of WB.

To try to do it responsibly? That will be difficult.

There was a trade somebody came with for on Indiana. I'd have to find it.

Orlando? Houston? Just pick a bottom feeder. And go from there. We're in a bad spot, thought. I'll concede that.

LeBron is not a man- he is an overgrown child.
He wonders why so many have disliked him over the years? It’s because of garbage like this most recent passive aggressive message he released through his agency. He created the Westbrick problem and now has the audacity to blame it on Rob a few short months after he realizes it was the wrong move? What a fool.
If he were a man, he would own up to his failures, and finish out his massive contract with integrity.
Our FO does need to keep its relationship with Klutch civil for the reasons others have already pointed out in this thread.
I couldn’t stand LeGM before he became a Laker, but I have rooted for him since he’s been here.
Now that he’s blaming others for his failures, I no longer will look at him the same and will be happy when he’s gone.

iirc, part of why wall isn't playing was that he didn't want to come off the bench. tbh, if russ would come off the bench, it would be great--better than wall, imo.

do we want to? maybe--particularly if we know beal is off the table (the 2023 FA class doesn't look particularly strong). for what/whom, though? i'm not saying it's totally impossible, it's just hard to fathom how it would play out.

orlando and houston both have young ball-dominant guards they're trying to develop; just hard to imagine.

if indy wanted to get off brogdon's long-term deal, hield and brogdon works, but i'm guessing we'd have to add picks that we really don't have.

 

I imagine he will make sure he's a FA the year Bronny can be selected. That way he also hypes up Bronny's pick as teams know it will have the dad attached. He may even be 1st pick . It's clever marketing wise but it can kill the kid's career if he's not that good as people have been saying.
So I don't see any team trading for LeBron because they are not sure if they will have Bronny available in their pick.

So if any team trades for him, is for the on and off court impact he will have before that.
Cleveland makes sense, story wise, but they would need to give back Allen, Sexton and Love, something like that. It's not the best move for them. They are in an excellent position with Mobley in a rookie contract for a few years and some interesting assets. The kid is amazing.
I can see teams like Charlotte or Knicks doing that to take advantage of the marketing impact
