If that's all it takes to sit a star down, then what's stopping the next team, from sending an end of the bench guy to start a scrum with a star player?

Yea: not a good idea for the NBA. The Elbow Incident (as it will come to be known) revealed that:
1.) Isaiah Stewart may be the next Ron Artest, pre-Metta World Peace.
2.) the NBA has NOT forgotten the Malice in the Palace. It was a black eye for the league.
