LABron James Discussion: The Final Year?

Or it could be we faced a soft portion of our schedule, where bad teams are typically bad due to their bad defense.

Our offense hasn’t looked great against it and when it’s so Bron-centric already, what happens when the schedule starts to pick up? Does Bron’s minutes/usage go up even more when he can’t sit out 4th quarters due to a blowout?

This is why dead weight and/or redundant roles/skillsets on the roster need to be addressed. You want to maintain Bron during the regular season, you need someone from the bench that can keep his a** there for longer durations of time.

As of right now, even with games that present outliers where he gets to sit 4th quarters due to blowouts, Bron comes in as 11th overall in mpg. The only “old head” that beats him is 33y/o Lowry by avg 1 more minute per than him.

And he’s 5th overall in total minutes played so far this season.

If anybody is capable of going the distance, it’s Bron. But is it in our best interest to have him get this much run in his 17th season, where if he’s not in the lineup, our offense becomes a hot mess? Regular season games are fun, but without hardware, it’s another wasted season of Bron. It’s a priority to take care of our stars and keep these dudes’ legs fresh.

 

One more person on LB who watches games from beginning to end?

Meanwhile, @lakerjones thanks for addressing my concern appropriately. I totally get what you’re saying, but just bringing up the other side of the argument that KB24 was trying to point out.

 

Pot meet kettle there as many have let you know. Repeating your same angst filled multiple issues over and over regardless of the merits of opposing dialog, and acknowledging we know already how You feel on these issues.

 

Hey I love a good sub or ribbing within a post, but bring up some hoops proof along with it to support your argument other than your “eye test”.

What did my eyes tell me when the roster was constructed? Playmaking behind Bron was going to be tough and proper depth to cut minutes from our stars was also going to be a problem outside if Kuz.

Hoops proof backs that up now...but that can all change if/when Kuz, Rondo and Av receive clean bills of health and AC gains confidence in with more minutes. Although other than Kuz & AC, Av and Rondo have had some durability issues. And that roadie is coming where all that travel takes a toll on your body.

 

Yeah you just answered your own questions and our plea since you started beating up what the FO assembled. Give this roster a chance.

 

I have given it a chance and will continue to. But Bron’s usage is a concern that we shouldn’t hope doesn’t become an issue. We should be proactive about it.

Nearly 20% of the season is a wrap. I love how we gained a meaningful margin of error with our schedule.



Now I would hope to see that we can exploit it some by being mindful of Bron’s minutes, even if it means we surrender a game that could be won if we turned on the proverbial switch.

Thing about these stars is that they feel an obligation to the fans on these road trips to show out. I hope Vogs can say, “nope Bron, that will be all...now get your a** back to the bench.”

Anyways back to Bron...just get this man to the finish line please. Whether that’s through coaching minutes management or *gulp* addressing the roster...just get him to May in one piece and maybe we can see him in June with a 2 piece as he bags us a chip.

Lebron would never let himself be worn down like that. He'd take his midseason trip to Miami, or he'd have cameras detailing all of his daily "overcoming" whereas we only heard stories after the fact about Kobe.

 

Yep. Vogs and the coaching staff need to figure it out. Just don’t sacrifice the defense. I don’t care if our offensive efficiency is not optimum, just find a way to get Bron closer to 30mins per and prevent him from having to turn on the juice in the 4th if possible. Save that good s*** for the playoffs.

No one is as bad as Pringles...f***ing hate that guy for undermining Pau and for condensing Kob’s prime! I Despise.that.guy and absolutely hated Jimbo picking him over Phil. Smfh!

 

Hope so...I want this level of LeBron in May and June.

However, if we can continue to win at a good clip, maybe there will be opps for rest on the back end of the schedule.
