Good breakdown; he'll fill some minutes at the 5 for us and spread the floor. As I've mentioned before, he's not a 4 in today's league, but he has the size to play the 5 and be very useful in that role; if he's the kind of passer that Rob talked about, we can use him in ways that GS utilized Bogut; with the added ability to use him off of flare screens and such... Very nice pick; he's going to be a rotation player, IMO.
Turiaf never had close to this kind of shooting and post skills. Turiaf was just pure energy and hustle.
n i. don't think he makes randle expendable....he makes zu n bryant expendable n maybe even lopez is no longer prioritized
From what I’ve seen so far he reminds me of a nice mashup of two old school guys I liked: Kurt Rambis and Jack Sikma
Anyone see Kevin Love with more size, swag and fire? Great breakdown mang. To compare this guy's skill to Nance imo is disrespectful. We all loved Larry but he was obviously limited.
The comparison is only in relation to how Larry fit in as the team's heart and soul. Their games are very different.
Yeah I know... Anyways I think moe will bring more all around and actually has a legit NBA game to turn into a legit starter. How about the Kevin Love comparison with more beef and fire?
...Sikma was a baaad man. Issel comes to mind given Wagner has a similar perimeter game. Hell, Abdul-Jabbar respected Issel.
http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-20180622-story.html Some great quotes in here from Tania. The Lakers continue to hammer home the culture build they're going for and given that, I agree with everyone who said I was wrong to hope for Robert Williams. That kid would not have fit our culture at all. That last sentence. D'Angelo died for this team.
Wagner easily looks like the better scheme fit compared to Williams who was "value" at that selection. Part of me also says Wagner would dominate Williams 1 on 1.
[/QUOTE] This was emphasized by Rob after the draft - the passing element of Wagner's game. Thinking we can utilize him in different ways; at the top of the key without having to depend on high pick in roll possession after possession...
