I'm thinking it's having the opposite effect... LeBron might be even more motivated to win in Cleveland to prove Kyrie that he can win without him and to prove the doubters wrong.
I don't see it that way. I see him blaming the owner for not having a GM at the MOST CRITICAL TIME OF YEAR. Inexcusable. And they get no one in free agency and then miss out on trades and then (eventually) let Kyrie go? I don't see Bron staying. I'm not saying he's coming to us, but I'd be absolutely shocked if he stayed in Cleveland.
Nothing good enough to beat the Warriors with. Maybe not even Boston/Wizards(maybe they make a deal to improve by deadline).
I see talk on ESPN (Around the Horn) has shifted from LeBron/George to the Lakers to LeBron/Westbrook to the Lakers. Maybe even LeBron, Westbrook, AND George! We'll trade every player on the team to clear the money for them, and then sign D-leaguers to sub 1million dollar deals to fill out the roster.
Westbrook is an incredible player, but if we're getting LeBron and PG, I'd rather fill out our roster with Ingram and Ball and let them develop into the next generation of Laker superstars. I'm skeptical Westbrook fits well in a super team, and as others here have mentioned, he loses almost as many games for you as he wins.
I've never heard of anything about Westbrook this summer. Westbrook rumors had been around a while ago because he went to UCLA, but I haven't heard anything for a while. On ESPN710 this afternoon they talked to Jabba the Windhorst and he said some interesting things about LeBron. Kelvin and Travis asked him about LeBron to the Lakers and Windhorst said something along the lines of: LeBron has left his city twice and each time leading up to him leaving there was a ton of smoke around him going. This was the closest Windhorst has come to saying LeBron has a leg out the door which is notable. Windhorst went on to repeat something he's been saying lately which is that LeBron won't make his decision until next summer. He says LeBron might lean one way or the other over the course of the year, but he won't make the call until the end. If the Cavs are bounced early or lose badly in the Finals again, LeBron is out.
Yeah, I just don't see Westbrook coming here. He's a bit of a lone wolf in a way and likes to defy conventional wisdom. I see him liking and staying in OKC. But who knows for certain? Lebron to LA makes a lot of sense. I truly hope we get Paul George though at the very least. We'll have to see where they land up this post season.
They're only talking about LeBron and Westbrook because they're working out together along with Rose and a couple others in Vegas.
Only rumor i read is okc has the super max rdy for westbrook, all he has to do us sign it. Which at this pt, i dont think he will. He doesn't lose anything even if he waits till end of the season
Would you rather for one season, not the next 4, just for next season only: Lebron/Westbrook PG-13/Cousins Both pairings present problems and maybe even lineup issues. But let's say those specific combos are our options.
Multiple talk shows pointed out that they both hate Curry and Durant and the Warriors, and that with LeBron nothing seems off the table with regard to who he decides to team up with. The talking point was obviously he'd want to put together a superteam of guys that want to take out the Warriors.
Mmm, this was delicious, I don't even think I need dinner now I'm so full. https://theundefeated.com/features/cleveland-cavaliers-kyrie-irving-lebron-james/
