Where does it say after the season? Seems like he called about the cap space this year in regards to KCP. Doesn't mean they didn't talk about other individuals for the future though...
I do think it's significant that our brass was willing to say Rich Paul called the Lakers to tell them he liked what they were doing. I do think it's significant how much the Lakers were worshiping (pun sort of intended) at the feet of Rich and his client. I think the Lakers are going to try desperately to roll out the red carpet to Pope and Rich and try to make sure they feel like this is the place to be.
It was clearly about KCP if you look at Serena previous tweet. John3:16 account has been hacked by Broussard
They touched on this quickly on ESPN710 but you'd be crazy to think their conversation with Rich didn't touch on LeBron.
So according to this fool at the beginning of the video if LeBron signs with the Lakers next summer he's giving up on winning rings. What the f***? That's got to be the dumbest s*** I've heard. According to who and how is LeBron signing in L.A. him giving up on rings? Lakers have already assembled a much improved roster then last year and if things fall their way they could make a run at the playoffs. At worst a 30-35 win team with a lot of excitement and two legit building blocks for the future. You add LeBron and another legit max free agent such as Paul George and that's a legit championship contender. They'd definitely be a better team then the Cavaliers as currently constituted because they have legit young talent on the roster which the Cavs really don't not to mention cap flexibility which Cleveland also doesn't possess. I really don't understand this whole notion that LeBron should stay in the East when a better situation would await him in Los Angeles. They may not be able to beat the Warriors right away, but they at least have the ability to improve their roster and attract other free agents down the road which the Cavaliers really don't. As great as LeBron is nobody wants to play in Cleveland and for a douche owner like Gilbert.
I'm almost certain that if Lebron comes here, he isn't coming alone. Why would he come here to play with a bunch of kids? He's bringing someone with him here.
Or you're trying to set your Poster of the Month record so high it can't be touched. Similar to John with his "click bait" exposed by intrepid sirron ..... What happened to all the real LB journalists?
Anyone get the feeling Gilbert deliberately torpedoed that because he knows even PG couldn't have helped them win with what else they would have had to give up, by firing the GM mid stream of negotiations. Just saying f*** it we got the one ring and I know LBJ is leaving anyway and this tax burden he's saddled me with sucks?
Yeah I guess that, alam. Same effect though. He would have had to give him a raise too though, right?
the story is Indy backed out of the PG deal, they didn't want to help Clev cont. their dominance. It was the Butler trade that was close to being done as reported
They didn't want to extend his contract. I forget where to find it but a graphic was put up on ESPN around this time showing the last 4-5 GM's of the Cavs and not a SINGLE GM's contract was extended. Not one! Now that is a bad look.
I feel like the timeline was Griff was close to getting George, then Gilbert does his thang, which infuriates the kang. Bron tweets how Griff was not appreciated but he definitely appreciated all the stuff he did towards Cleveland finally getting that rang. Then there's all this talk about how Bron is not actively recruiting players to he Cavs because he knows he's outta there come the summer of 2018. Then Crawford gets bought out and insinuates that he wants to talk to Bron and come Cleveland. I'm sure when he does talk to Bron, he understands whats going on, so he chooses Minny. Then the SL thing happens where Bron does some scouting for his potential new team. Then the KCP thing happens and indirectly through those talks we probably locked up the King next summer. The crazy thing is we know Bron and Paul George want to play together since the Cavs were obviously close to getting that deal done. Gilbert probably wanted to stop paying these ridiculous taxes and is just content with the 1 title that was won under his watch. Meanwhile Magic and Rob are singing Rich Paul's praises and at one point, Magic even eluded to getting KCP on the cheap, almost indicating that there could be something here in the future that locks him up on the cheap. But who would enable that to happen? Let the year round speculation begin, but I'm really getting more and more confident we locked up Bron and PG. Hate to sound like a broken record, but we need to shed that Deng contract badly.
yea, whether we like it or not, PG is NOT the biggest free agent acquisition next summer hopefully LeBron does us a favor and only does a 2yr deal like he does with the Cavs
