I wouldn't trade the pick. Ball completes our roster. I'm not convinced PG13 or Butler + a depleted roster is any better. All the team needs is time, experience, and guidance. And patience from fans. As for Fox vs Ball in terms of defense, even though Fox may be the better individual defender, I think Ball will contribute to improving our team defense more. As witnessed last year, intensity on defense increases dramatically when everyone feels like they are involved on offense. Ball will make the offense flow.
Not to mention there's rumblings of him making 20 some odd million this summer. I'm good not paying for that.
We paid Deng 18 M so anything is possible for JJ. There is always a moron executive out there who will overpay
It's one of the things I've been reading and hearing. http://www.sbnation.com/2017/5/12/15630648/jj-redick-20-million-contract-clippers-free-agency He wants 18-20 million. Keep in mind he and his agent are going to point to the following: Crabbe- 18.5 Deng- 18 W. Matthews- 17.1 Fournier- 17 Turner- 16.4 Bazemore- 15.7 J. Green- 15 He'll probably end up less than 20 million, but I'm not paying anything close to what he's going to get.
If it was the 4 you'd have something. But you're playing with fire if you go down to 5. I want one of Ball/Fox. Both could go top 4. In fact, I expect both to be gone, especially with who is picking.
Philly might. They need a pg. Simmons/Saric/Embiid is there current core. Fox would be a great pickup. Phoenix probably takes Jackson.
I could see phil trading down for monk n the team trading up takes jj n pho takes tatum but yes trade would be draft day deal not before
I listened to the last WOJ podcasts on The Vertical and WOJ mentioned in talking with Brett Brown he really wants to give Simmons and legit shot at being the PG of the team. I don't see PHI wanting a PG in this draft. They need shooting in the worst way. I could definitely see them signing Redick and drafting Jackson. Jackson is not a great shooter, but improved in college. What I'm getting at is PHI isn't wanting a PG as they believe SImmons is there guy

I agree it's been bad. Not unexpected with so many young players in our rotation. Not sure what that has to do with my initial point, though. A Ball/Russell backcourt could work really well and be adequate defensively. Team D needs to improve via combination of player maturation, better scheme, & bringing in better defensive players moving forward.
Nice breakdown with actual data and comparisons between the last 10 one and done lottery PGs selected.
i doubt it happens but what do the lakers do if boston takes ball #1? from what i've heard, fultz is basically russell 2.0. i'm assuming they'd take fox at #2?
