    How many times have we heard this?

    EVERY single year superstars are linked to the Lakers because they're the Lakers.

    Does it ever actually happen?

    No it doesn't and it isn't going to unless they start making some serious progress.

    The Lakers have made some progress this season, but enough to convince superstars to leave a whole lot of dollars on the table and come to Los Angeles? Not likely.

    The dynamic would sure change if Magic was able to bring Kobe back into the competitive thinking and player development Lakers picture going forward. Hey he brought it up. I'm all over that. Kobe should be too. Part time, competitive Lakers juices going again. Kobe vs MJ, Magic vs Bird ......
