For the minimum, that's a bargain.

Way to go JJ and Luka for selling him.

He misses games to injury but all defensive wings do. They key is to have options when they go down.

Wing by committee (even if we still make a move for Kuminga, PJ, etc). We can't get a high end one so we're just going to throw 10 at you and see what sticks. Based on assets and options, it's the best plan for this summer.

I wonder if there is some history there with Luka maybe having already tried to previously recruit him when he signed the RFA offer sheet with Dallas that got matched by Portland.

That is an incredible deal. He is an absoute ace of PoA defense who has improved his 3pt shooting to about 40% due to reworked shot mechanics. The only problem: availabity. If we can save him defending the wings by committee, this is an elite signing for us. We finally have several players who can defend multiple positions. IMO, Thybulle is the best screen defender in the NBA. Thumbs up.

when he's on the court, he's consistently among the league's very best perimeter defenders. it's like getting smart back in this regard. maybe better.

but yeah, he's just rarely on the court.

    YES!!!

Great get once again on the margins. Beefs up our perimeter defense, puts less pressure on Carr where he doesn't need to speed up his development and can play more freely. Even Grimes benefits from this.

This is a really great move. We are getting deep and that will help Thybulle too as we don't need to run him to the ground

Great deal! I love this move because it beefs up our perimeter D and along with the Williams signing, Grimes addition and drafting Carr we are suddenly deep at the wing position.

Kudos to Rob for these two last bargain signings on vet min deals! I’m moving up our offseason grade to a rock solid B. Just get us a starting caliber PF and it’s an A for me.
