I’ve heard a lot of mixed things regarding if/when we could send him out in another trade now that this one was made official without any other aggregations. Do you happen to know?

agree that lebron slides into cleveland nicely in a way that makes them better than us on paper.

what i don't get is why kuminga--as a 23-year old aspiring to bigger things--would think playing backup forward there for the same money as starting forward in la would make sense.

no. but i think rich is invested in us being bad at this point. he big mad. it's part of why i was surprised sexton was a klutch client. figured he'd turn everyone away. but thiero and bronny are, too...

Bronny is headed wherever his dad goes IMO. We might get a 2nd rd pick out of it.

i'd have to dig, but my memory says there's like a 24-hour window or something. but that feels fake. if it's official, i think he's here for 60 (90?) days.

the kuminga stuff is possible without him, but i was just hoping it would be cleared up as part of a multi-team trade.

we can easily send him and one of the seconds into space, send the other second and laravia into space, and accept a S&T for kuminga starting at 19 per, though.

note that the kessler trade still isn't announced...

Yeah I have no idea what the hell they are doing. 3y to Middleton when they have George and Coulibaly?

He's a very good vet but a 3y deal is weird

I'm surprised we couldn't get Champagnie or Coulibaly for Ayton. They have more wings than you can point a stick at...

PG: Young, Bub, D'Angelo (Probably gone)
    SG: George, Tre Johnson, Whitmore
    SF: Dybantsa, Champagnie, Will Riley
    PF: AD, Coulibaly, Reese
    C: Sarr, Ayton, Vuckevic

Just odd team building, they need another Guard, and they've really got 8 guys that can play SF-PF and some of them are playing SG just because.

    EDIT: And Middleton now too.

Lakers did not want LeBron back even for vet min. They wanted to move on. I am sure they were not happy with his agent last season and the way he acted at one point during the season.

Edited - to clarify that Kuminga isn’t with Klutch.

I don’t know that Rich is trying to screw us but I think Kumingas agent is just trying to squeeze a bit more for his client to make up for the amounts they likely lost by not resigning with Golden State.

As others, including you I believe mentioned, this feels like Dennis Schroeder to me.

Rich certainly isn’t our friend but I don’t know that he’s exactly an enemy either. He will need us to help get Bronny to Cleveland. He’s also Sexton’s agent so he will still have him and Adou on our roster.

I definitely may be proven wrong but I think Kuminga, like several others, played their hands and there just isn’t as much money out there as they thought. I also think the market has been set with less guaranteed money available for guys.

Basically we are on one of the few teams who are offering up a solid contract at multiple years and it’s a game of chicken between both sides to see who blinks first on the final numbers.

Personally if someone is willing to take Vando and Knecht off our hands I’d probably trip over something trying to get to the phone or whatever to make that final but I completely understand Rob not wanting to be in a bidding war against himself.

    We will see

I don't think the reported $20m over two is enough to get Kuminga. I think you have to start at $14m, making it $30m+ over two. He will still want more but I think that has to be the starting point.

The fact that Rob, JJ and some of the players have spoken to him means we're all in on him.

If the a version of the rumored offer is real and we dump our dead weight in the process, that's worth paying Kuminga more money.

That also creates another roster spot or two and you'll be able to bring in a couple more vet min FAs. The Looney signing does show that we're willing to sign someone over 28 years old which i wasn't sure of before that.

Looney hasn't played more then 15 mpg in like 4 years. He's got mulitple hip surgeries and other injuries on top of it. This isn't a 30 year old lebron we're talking about here. He looks like a tree out there in terms of his movement. Rather have klieber tbh

I’m not the biggest Kuminga fan, mostly due to all I’ve read about him not wanting to play within a system and going rogue, but if Rob foists our trash on ATL, I would be stoked.

He can rebound and set screens. Like others have said, he will most likely be third center in the pecking order.
