no. it's when deals can become official. so far, the only one i've seen is the giannis trade. maybe the dean wade signing?

the reason it matters is that some deals might be expanded, etc. once we know how guys are actually signed/traded, we know who still has what space, etc. the fact that we're two hours in and not much has been made official probably means there's still a lot of negotiating.

Inflation. Hayes is no longer that kind of spot time player and was in the regular rotation and was even preferred over Ayton at times.

yeah, it's ok. i think he's replaceable at vet min. we haven't done it, obviously, and it may not happen immediately, but i don't think we're going to be crying over it for years or anything.

i do wish we'd have nabbed bagley if we knew that ayton was going to be traded.

again, i just can't buy that we made the ayton trade with no further plans.

I think its pretty clear we have a number of coals still on the fire. I definitely expect a back up big and a wing before the dust completely settles.

I think trading Ayton, Van and Dalton was always going to be in the card even up until trade deadline. I was more surprised not locking up Hayes. 3 mil is Bronny James territory. 6 mill is chump change. I think lakers went to for on the going for high iq players and eliminating energy and hustle.

btw, for those wondering why i'm interested in finalized deals, this is an example:

earlier, i was wondering how the clips were going to get watson:

the one i'm watching for us is the ayton trade. i don't think it gets executed on its own. if it does, i guess we're going the stretch-waive route. but that hasn't happened, either. hell, the kessler deal hasn't even happened, and i figured that would be first.

Yeah but it's such a low salary that surely if they wanted to keep him they'd find a way, either orchestrating the money between all the signings, dumping someone or an agreement with him for a future pay.
I think he was worthy because he'd have one of the best value contracts in the team

Technically, Lakers could stretch Vando, then trade LaRavia, Knecht, and Thiero to Denver for Watson at a deal starting at about 24 million. But I don't want to trade Thiero. I think I would rather just trade LaRavia or Hardy + 2nd round pick to Atlanta for Kuminga.

Lakers trying something new. Not really sure how it goes but it's definitely different from the previous Lakers the Buss Lakers.

The Sacramento Kings are waiving DeMar DeRozan, making the six-time All-Star one of the top free agents, sources tell ESPN. The sides worked collaboratively on this resolution after exploring trade routes.

I think Lebron is done winning titles. DeRozan and Lebron to Clippers.

Clippers refused to offer Lakers any draft capital in a Rui sign and trade, per Shams.

The front office knows its feet are to the fire and they've got to show both the new owners and Luka's camp that they can build a team that works around him.

I think they are largely executing their plan even if we don't like some of the particulars of how we are getting there.

Right. We're still wheeling and dealing out there. Some of the reported details on earlier moves may not have even been correct as things can change.

They are doing it but it seems to JJ and Luka centric.

I'm pretty confident it's going to be the Cavs. I think LeBron came to realize over his tenure here that he was never going to fully win over the Laker fanbase. If he wants to do his retirement tour somewhere where he'll actually be loved, the Cavs are the only option. Miami sort of, but he was only there for 4 years as a mercenary.

You have a very noble job and I too thank you for what you do!
I’ve lost a family member to an extreme case and another decided he would rather live on the streets of Venice Beach, CA then be in an apartment.
