This is the kind of thing we need to have the best supporting staff for

Walters needs to spend in this area

    Developing players all around

I don’t know why he is playing summer league. He was averaging 15/5 with 2 stocks in 20 mins in the g league. He showed he can defend and rebound in the nba last season, feel like he should be working with staff and not so much in G league which is terrible for players like him that need structure.

It was pretty obvious why he was playing in SL yesterday, lol.

He had a better second half, and I'm of the opinion, he needs to play as much as possible.

At the very least, the 2nd half was a little better & he's healthy.

yeah, if you listen to the coaches and players talk about these games, they almost treat them more like shell drills, just with opponents (i think this is part of why you see the sloppy live ball turnovers from guards--we're running the offense no matter what they do, dammit!).

thiero's gotten a lot of those reps with better players and opponents.

Summer league is terrible for him. We got some bald 40 year old guy playing PG that can’t set the table.

Why do we have Adou trying to create from the perimeter with some weird funky drives. He won’t be doing that in an NBA game probably ever. We need him just working on his outside shot, d’ing up and cutting/getting into transition.

The lack of structure in summer league sucks for him.

Yeah, well, that's most of SL. It's tough to watch. Our teams usually suck. He's raw and needs the time to develop. Summer league, training camp, maybe he contributes to the G-League a bit, these are just the developmental steps he needs to go through, IMO. He's extremely raw. Hell, he may need another year of development before he gets real playing time.

I wish you guys were right... but you're not. Him and Carr won't do s*** under JJ.

Played sped up and a bit out of control.
Needs a lot of work still, but in the real games, he will be playing with a real PG, which he needs to set him up for lobs and back door passes.
I need to see a lot more of him on the court in order to tell if he can contribute this season.
I sure hope he’s feeling okay today after that hard fall when he was horizontal and landed on his hip/back area.

I'm not panicking over one summer league game. Adou has shown what he can do. He is definitely going to help us this season. We go from the Summit of Denali to the depths of the Grand Canyon awfully quick around here. No player can survive such scrutiny...lol.

    Yeah, I’m not panicking.
I’m just responding to what I just watched.
    He had a bad game.

You know I'm just jerking your chain :) and yeah BUT we don't know that yet AND he himself wasted LeBron being here last year actually playing the good soldier to help HIM and this team out with a puncher's chance at it EARLY .... injuring his own a** ..... errr .... hammy, landing himself unplayable on the bench.

Meh..he was too hyped up...a lot of nervous energy displayed, with how he was just throwing himself around, without any discipline or purpose. Slow down young buck..the highlight reels are coming in spades..gotta keep your emotions in check.

He will do better with better players and a clearly defined role he can slowly expand upon.

You just want him to develop defensively. He’ll get cuts and transition baskets no problem.

What will be the litmus test on whether he can get meaningful minutes is whether teams feel they can leave him wide open on the perimeter because he can’t shoot and can’t drive under control.

He has a lot of work to do but we need to see some of progress on the shot and progress on D. We need that by the end of the season.

That horizontal high in the air thing was stoopid, great way to get himself injured again and mess up his second season. Come on Adou smarten up.

I sure hope someone on the coaching staff points this out to him.
All they have to do is put a reel together of Ja continuously slamming down on the floor after an acrobatic attempt.
He obviously has a much larger body, but I think it would effectively get the point across.

eh, you have to be careful about messing with what got you here.

i'm not going to read too much into him falling down a couple times in summer league game. it's not like his full year in the g-league was awkward contortions into violent falls.
