He would be slotted at the 3, but really defend 1-2 until he puts on weight to be able to match up with 3’s. Luka is more of a point forward so he plays 1, but defends 3 or 4. Carr will play 3 on offence but defend POA.
Well, we can talk about him starting in year 3 or if he pops early, maybe year 2. Hell, maybe he'll make Austin expendable. LMFAO.
There have been and always will be way too early overrating rookies excitement. I did it with Knecht. But, I can also say that I knew Kobe was going to be a star from the first Summer League game. Carr is going to be better than Knecht. He already is.
It's really nice to have a young player to get excited about We need as many as we can get and develop them
He reminds me a lot of Zach Lavine. Good shooter, explosive & athletic, and can rack up points. I think it'll take him 15-20 games to be adjusted. Luka's gotta know where he likes the passes and Carr's gotta figure out the spots he has to be in. I hope Lakers don't give up on him if he has a bad early start. A player like him needs to learn how to fail before he can figure things out. Only thing he should be working on this summer is getting stronger so he can be a better perimeter defender, JJ drawing up the spots that Carr is most comfortable in, and getting familiarity with the rest of the Lakers offense. Even if his shot is off, there's a lack of defense on this team. If he can stand out as a defender, he'll get his playing time.
Exactly, no pumping the brakes, step on the gas. Give this kid the entire season to get ready for the playoffs with AR, Luka and Kessler. We will be kicking butt.
Sure … not your body getting beaten like a piñata. But I agree …. minutes whenever possible with all our huge leads while running the league as to your projections.
lavine was a much stronger ballhandler coming out; people thought he'd eventually play some pg. twitchier athlete and bigger, too. no shame in not being like young lavine, though. what i really like is that if he can score in all those ways, he should be able to find points as a secondary player right away. it's all going to come down to defense. in those clips and in college, he lapses at weird times. i'd like to catch a full game if i get a chance and watch him closely on that end for myself. the clips sometimes don't help me with the context (e.g., did they do something different the previous time, etc.). anyway, i think pre-draft i called him a taller/longer malik monk, and i still like that. if some of the smart guys are calling him sg trey murphy, that's exciting.
